Epix dropped the first trailer for Chapelwaite, its chilling new horror series.
The series, based on Stephen King's short story Jerusalem's Lot, first published in the 1978 collection Night Shift, stars Adrien Brody as Captain Charles Boone, a recently widowed family man who moves his three children to his ancestral home in the sleepy town of Preacher's Corners. However, Charles quickly discovers a horrifying family past that he must confront, lest it consume his family for generations to come.
The drama also stars Emily Hampshire as Rebecca Morgan, a young woman who left Preacher's Corners for Mount Holyoke College, only to return to write a story for the prestigious Atlantic Magazine. Struggling with writer's block, she finds inspiration — and darkness — when Boone and his family arrive in town.
Epix gave the series a 10-episode order back in December 2019. Jason Filardi and Peter Filardi are writing, while Donald De Line is producing. The first episode airs on Aug. 22 at 10 p.m. EST.
Brody is set to have a busy 2021, as he is also scheduled to appear on Succession's third season. Hampshire is coming out of a successful run on Schitt's Creek and will also star in Amazon Prime Video's upcoming The Rig.
