Disney+'s Chip 'n' Dale Series Drops an Adorable First Trailer

The adorable, trouble-making chipmunks Chip and Dale get a taste of the big city in the trailer for the Disney+ animated series Chip 'n' Dale: Park Life.

Park Life Season 1 will encompass twelve episodes comprising three seven-minute stories, each of which will focus on the eponymous duo's misadventures as they adjust to living in a big city park. The trailer shows Chip and Dale getting into all sorts of mischief while coming face to face with iconic Disney animated characters like Mickey Mouse's pet pooch Pluto and Bruno the dog.

Chip 'n' Dale: Park Life is directed by Jean Cayrol, who previously served as a background artist and layout director on the French animated comedy series Oggy and the Cockroaches. Cayrol's fellow Oggy alum Marc du Pontavice serves as an executive producer here, with Vincent Artaud (Oggy and the Cockroaches: The Movie) acting as the show's composer. The animation was similarly provided by Xilam, the French studio behind the Oggy franchise, along with DreamWorks Animation's 2019 remake of the classic cartoon series Mr. Magoo.

As with other recent Disney+ series, Chip 'n' Dale: Park Life will premiere new episodes on Wednesdays rather than Fridays. This is part of the streamer's efforts to avoid competing directly with Netflix and Hulu, which release their shows on Fridays. Although this trend technically began with Loki Season 1 at the start of June, it didn't become Disney+'s official policy until Monsters at Work debuted on July 7. With Loki drawing massive viewership, the streamer hopes to build on that momentum by premiering Marvel's animated What If...? series on Aug. 11, with new episodes dropping on Wednesdays over the weeks that follow.

Following Park Life, Chip and Dale will return in the live-action/CGI Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers movie. The Disney+ exclusive film is based on the popular Disney Channel animated series, which sees Chip and Dale form a detective agency with an eclectic crew that includes cheese-loving Australian mouse Monterey Jack, skilled inventor mouse Gadget Hackwrench and Monterey's faithful housefly sidekick Zipper. Akiva Schaffer is directing the movie, with John Mulaney and Andy Samberg lending their voices to Chip and Dale.

Chip 'n' Dale: Park Life will stream on Disney+ beginning July 28. The Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers movie is slated to reach the streaming service in Spring 2022.
