CBR can exclusively reveal Bill Sienkiewicz and Colleen Doran's cover art for The Nine #0, InterPop's clean NFT comic series written by Will Pfeifer and illustrated by Steve Ellis.
Sienkiewicz's cover features a character by the name of Coax, while Doran's features Zeroth. The title will be showcased during InterPop's upcoming free Block Party, and those who attend can secure their own free copies.
The Nine is part of InterPop's new Emergents Universe, and like all of its digital collectibles, it will be available on the Tezos platform. Notably, this platform utilizes clean blockchain technology, which consumes far less energy than some of its competitors.
"I think it is going to play an increasingly starring role in both mediums," InterPop President and Publisher Brian David-Marshall said during a Medium Q&A when asked about the future of blockchains in gaming and comics. "There is nothing special about having a digital comic online right now. It is great that this is a way for you to read stories but I have always missed that collectibility component on digital comic platforms. Once people have a taste of actually owning their digital media — and being able to sell or trade it with other people — the demand for increased adoption of blockchain will echo through multiple fandoms."
The Nine is written by Will Pfeifer and illustrated by Steve Ellis. Fans can learn more about this, and InterPop as a whole, during the Block Party event, which takes place Saturday, July 17 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. ET.
