Invincible: The 10 Most Intelligent Characters Of The First Season, Ranked

The first season of the Invincible series displayed a wide range of powerful characters. From Omni-Man to Battle Beast, there has been no shortage of competent brawlers to challenge the heroes and defense agencies protecting Earth (or in some cases, support them).

However, intelligence was just as important of a quality as strength, as proven in many instances throughout the story and especially against Omni-Man. By identifying the animated series' most brilliant characters (so far), we can better appreciate how ingenuity, creativity, and wits can contend with unbridled physical might.

10 Donald Was A Gifted Agent Who Spied On Nolan Grayson

Despite his paunchy, unimpressive physique, Donald was Cecil's most reliable and competent ally. He was responsible for spying on Nolan Grayson in order to track his movements and gain more concrete evidence of his guilt.

When Damien Darkblood was about to expose Omni-Man's role in the Guardians' murder, Donald was also able to perform an exorcism on him, sending him back to Hell. He managed to do this on his first try despite the fact that he was an atheist.

9 Titan Was Skilled Enough To Take Over A Criminal Enterprise

Despite Titan's straightforward methods and brutish strength, he was deceptively intelligent. By using his previous encounter with Invincible to establish their relationship, he managed to play off the hero's empathy and convince him to defeat Machine Head.

Although they managed to get the kingpin off the streets when working together, this was only so that Titan could take his place at the top of the criminal underworld. His ability to outmaneuver one of the most technologically advanced minds on Earth is nothing short of remarkable, especially when considering he turned two potential threats against each other.

8 The Flaxans Were A Technologically Advanced Race Of Imperialistic Aliens

The Flaxans were remarkably intelligent, as proven through the advanced weapons they attacked the heroes with. A concentrated assault of blasters was sufficient in causing Invincible a considerable amount of harm despite the protection his Viltrumite lineage provided him.

Moreover, the Flaxan civilization continues to make rapid advances in technology and would have conquered Earth outright if not for Omni-Man's intervention. However, considering the time they have to develop their weapons, they cannot receive full credit for being natural inventive geniuses (especially with how poorly their own planet was protected).

7 Doc Seismic Had A Real Doctorate & Was An Inventive Genius

Doc Seismic was a villain who possessed a real doctorate and earned the academic respect of Cecil himself. His gadgets allowed him to contend with Atom Eve and Invincible simultaneously, suggesting his formidable intellect and ability to adapt.

Although he was defeated by the heroes shortly after his debut, it was revealed that he had survived falling into magma and started to develop an army of molten servants. The doctor will continue to use his genius for destructive purposes until he is properly imprisoned.

6 Cecil Was An Excellent Strategist Who Used Earth's Finest Defenses To Delay Omni-Man

Cecil was responsible for developing the new Guardians of the Globe and protecting Earth from supernatural threats. As cunning as he was ruthless, he was ultimately a credit to those he swore to protect.

To him, even defeated opponents were a potential resource to be used in the future. Because of Cecil's pragmatism, the planet's finest defenses were able to stop Omni-Man from reaching Invincible for several minutes. Although his efforts ultimately ended in failure, none could have fared better against the Viltrumite threat than he did.

5 The Mauler Twins Were Scientific Pioneers Who Perfected Cloning & Even Reanimation

Despite their appearances, the Mauler Twins were profoundly intelligent. They mastered cloning technology and were even capable of resurrecting Immortal to do their bidding. Considering that they succeeded where Cecil's finest people failed, their technological minds are not to be underestimated.

The twins are especially frightening given their other abilities. Not only did they have the strength to contend with the Guardians of the Globe directly, but they could also understand each other's thoughts at all times. Deadly synergy was the duo's greatest asset.

4 Damien Darkblood Discovered Omni-Man's Identity Well Before Anyone Else Did

Damien Darkblood was a demon from Hell who sought to save his own soul by solving murders. He was commissioned by Cecil in order to determine the Guardians' murderer and uncovered Omni-Man's guilt well before anyone else. Even the rogue hero's threats did not deter him from his mission, illustrating strong moral character.

Unfortunately, Darkblood solved the case so quickly that Cecil wasn't prepared to act yet. In order to keep the truth from getting out, he banished the detective back to the realm he came from.

3 Robot Was Able To Outsmart The Mauler Twins & Lead The New Guardians Of The Globe

Robot (also known as Rudolph Conners) was the leader of the new Guardians of the Globe. Although he participated in dozens of missions alongside the heroes, he made a dangerous gamble by freeing the Mauler Twins in order for them to make him a real body since his current one was deformed.

Not only did he outsmart the duo by giving them faulty schematics, but he was also immediately able to identify the intentional flaws they tried to make in his clone to use as blackmail against him.

2 Sinclair Designed Robots Powerful Enough To Fight Viltrumites

Sinclair was a brilliant young man who was offered free tuition at renowned colleges due to the technological wonders he was capable of. His most recognized creation was the reanimen, a fusion of metal to human bodies that were formidable enough to combat Viltrumites.

Despite being responsible for numerous abductions, Cecil was so impressed by his potential that he offered him a job at his agency. Sinclair's reanimen were tough enough to pose more of a challenge against Omni-Man than a four hundred billion dollar superweapon.

1 Machine Head Was So Advanced That He Could Even Calculate The Future

Machine Head was one of the most powerful and influential crime bosses in the country. As his moniker suggests, he enhanced himself with vast technological wonders that allowed him to predict every conceivable outcome in different scenarios.

When Titan brought Invincible to fight him, the crime kingpin was more than prepared. He ushered forth dozens of powerful minions to do his bidding, ones who were able to subdue the hero and his accomplice in a matter of minutes. However, the Guardians of the Globe managed to save their friend and capture the evildoer after a great deal of struggle.
