My Hero Academia One-Shot Special Coming to Shonen Jump | CBR

My Hero Academia is an anime juggernaut with a large, passionate fanbase, and Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has given those fans a new reason to be excited - a brand new My Hero Academia one-shot will be published in the magazine on Aug. 2.

As reported by the Anime News Network, manga artist Yoko Akiyama -- who is the assistant to My Hero Academia creator Kohei Horikoshi -- will write a new one-shot spinoff for the franchise. Akiyama has created spinoffs and one-shots for the series before, having penned Everyone Is Someone's Hero and My Heroine Academia. According to early reports, the one-shot will be 17 pages long and is titled "Boku No Hero Academia Tokubetsu Spinoff: Endeavor's Mission."

Teasers indicate that the story will feature the Flame Hero Endeavor fighting against his students Deku and Bakugo, as well as his son Todoroki. The one-shot should serve as a compliment to the fifth season of the My Hero Academia anime, which is currently adpating the "Internship at Endeavor's Agency" arc of the manga. The arc features Deku, Bakugo and Todoroki learning to be heroes under the guidance of current No. 1 Hero.

The same issue of Weekly Shonen Jump will also feature a new one-shot by Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu, the creators of The Promised Neverland. The one-shot will be a 49-page sci-fi action story and will include a center color page. It will be titled "DC3."

My Hero Academia' s fifth season is available for streaming on Hulu, Funimation Now and Crunchyroll.
