Schitt's Creek is a Canadian sitcom that focuses on the Rose family and their fall from grace. The well-to-do Roses enjoy a comfortable life until Johnny's business manager royally screws him over. When the Roses lose their entire fortune, they move to a small town called Schitt's Creek to try and rebuild their lives.
During their years in Schitt's Creek, the Roses meet many people who profoundly impact them. 10 Johnny Rose Builds Another Successful Business
Johnny Rose is a businessman and owner of Rose Video, an empire he built from the ground up. Although he struggles to find his footing at first, Johnny discovers something he can pour himself and his experience into, The Schitt's Creek Motel.
Johnny starts out as the co-manager, then slowly begins to rebrand the motel, renaming it The Rosebud Motel. By the series' end, Johnny heads to New York to present a business plan for franchising the motel. After landing an investor, Johnny becomes the co-owner of the Rosebud Motel Group, moving their headquarters to California to be with Moira.
9 Moira Rose Gets Back To Her Acting Roots
Moira is the eccentric matriarch of the Rose family and a famous actress for her role in the daytime soap opera Sunrise Bay. She begins to see her stardom fade in the wake of her family's scandal and clings to hope that her life in Schitt's Creek is only temporary.
When a part in a B movie called The Crows Have Eyes III: The Crowening comes along, Moira jumps at the opportunity. The movie becomes a cult smash and gets the attention of the team who wants to reboot Sunrise Bay. Moira accepts her old position on the soap opera and heads to California to begin filming.
8 David Rose Finds Happiness In Schitt's Creek
David is the black and white clothing-obsessed, socially disinterested older child of the Roses. Like all the Roses, David doesn't know how to deal with his new life in Schitt's Creek. Eventually, he gets a job as a brand manager for a local boutique.
The boutique closes, but David ends up with a sizeable amount of money from the store owner for helping her out legally. He uses the money to invest in his own store, Rose Apothecary. His store becomes a success, in part, thanks to his business partner and boyfriend Patrick. At the end of the series, David gets married to Patrick and decides to stay in Schitt's Creek to start his new life.
7 Alexis Rose Branches Out On Her Own
Alexis is the continent-hopping, self-obsessed, younger child of Johnny and Moira. Being a socialite, Alexis doesn't really have a direction in life. She just goes wherever the wind blows, often into the arms of another boyfriend.
By the end of the series, Alexis becomes a woman who can stand on her own two feet. She graduates with a business degree from community college and establishes her own PR firm. After handling The Crowening's press, Alexis gains the attention of Interflix. She takes the job and heads to New York, alone, to begin her new career.
6 Roland Schitt Is Still The Mayor
Roland is the off-putting and slightly annoying mayor of Schitt's Creek. He serves as an antagonist to the Roses in the beginning, but he actually becomes good friends with Johnny through his employment at The Rosebud Motel.
Roland invests in Johnny's idea to franchise The Rosebud Motel and becomes co-owner of the Rosebud Motel Group. He stays on as mayor in Schitt's Creek and oversees the motel when Johnny leaves for California.
5 Jocelyn Schitt Learns To Speak Up
Jocelyn is the bubbly and overly talkative wife of Roland Schitt. She is a high school teacher and the leader of the Jazzagals singing group. Although Moira is resistant to her at first, Jocelyn helps Moira make friends in Schitt's Creek.
By the end of the series, Jocelyn has had another child, the new baby bringing out a new side of Jocelyn, one who isn't afraid to voice her frustrations. She still keeps her friendly, always smiling demeanor, but she also learns that she doesn't have to take on so much. Like Roland, Jocelyn also becomes co-owner of the Rosebud Motel Group.
4 Stevie Budd Doesn't End Up Like Her Dead Aunt
Stevie is the dry and somewhat socially awkward manager of the Schitt's Creek Motel. Stevie bonds with David over their dislike for other people and grows close to Johnny, as he mentors her through his employment at the motel.
Stevie doesn't want to end up like her aunt, managing a motel until she dies, so she tries to branch out and try something new. However, she eventually comes back to The Rosebud Motel and goes along with Johnny to grow the small motel into something greater. In the end, Stevie remains in Schitt's Creek but travels and works to expand the Rosebud Motel Group.
3 Twyla Sands Invests In Her Favorite Café
Twyla is the good-hearted, slightly airheaded head waitress at Cafe Tropical in Schitt's Creek. The diner is frequented by the Roses, and Twyla is always on hand to lend a friendly ear to the many problems of the eccentric family.
It is revealed later in the series that Twyla is actually a millionaire, having won a 46 million dollar lottery. However, she keeps this fact a secret so people won't treat her differently. Although she doesn't have to work, she loves being at the café and listening to people's stories. In the end, Twyla decides to buy the café and renames it Twyla's Café Tropical.
2 Ted Mullins Lives Out His Dreams In The Galapagos Islands
Ted is the handsome, lovable town veterinarian. He is the typical good guy and catches the eye of Alexis very quickly. The two begin dating and have an on-again-off-again engagement throughout part of the series.
After Alexis breaks off their engagement, Ted does some soul searching and comes back to Schitt's Creek looking better than ever. Though the two get back together, they both realize that by being with each other, someone will have to give up on their dream. They respectfully part ways and Ted lives out his dream in the Galapagos Islands studying animals.
1 Patrick Brewer Gets To Spend His Life With David
Patrick is introduced in Season 3, assisting in licensures for businesses. David visits Patrick to get a license for Rose Apothecary. When Patrick shows interest in David's business, the two become business partners, and the relationship grows from there.
Patrick begins dating David after coming to terms with his feelings. He proposes to David and the two get married at the end of the series. Although it seems like David is keen on leaving Schitt's Creek, when he realizes that Patrick plans to buy them a house, he realizes that everything he needs is in Schitt's Creek. The two buy the cottage and settle down in their new life together.
