WandaVision, Mandalorian Help Disney+ Dominate HCA TV Awards

There are a sizable amount of Disney+ series and actors up for HCA TV Awards nominations.

Deadline reported that the full list of Hollywood Critics Association nominees was revealed during a livestream event, with NBC and HBO tying for top nominees at 29 each, followed by Netflix at 28 and Disney+ with 18. The streaming platform's most nominated shows include The Mandalorian, Marvel's WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the live-stage recording of Hamilton, with The Mandalorian being included for Best Streaming Series, Drama and WandaVision and Hamilton both competing for Best Streaming Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Live-Action Television Movie. Disney+'s only solo nomination is Big Shot's Yvette Nicole Brown for Best Supporting Actress in a Streaming Series, Drama.

For The Mandalorian, lead actor Pedro Pascal is in contention for Best Actor in a Streaming Series, Drama, while co-stars Giancarlo Esposito and Ming-Na Wen have been nominated for Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress respectively. The Star Wars show will be pitted against The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, where Anthony Mackie, Wyatt Russell and Daniel Brühl were also nominated for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor categories. Hamilton's nominations, meanwhile, go to Leslie Odom Jr. (Aaron Burr), for Best Actor and David Diggs (Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson) for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Movie.

WandaVision holds the most Disney+ categories at seven nominations. Alongside its inclusion for Best Streaming Limited Series, actors Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Randall Park, Kat Dennings, Kathryn Hahn and Teyonah Parris have all been nominated for the Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Movie.

Among the streaming shows, Ted Lasso, which announced its Season 2 release date in April, currently holds the most HCA TV Awards nominees at eight, including one for Best Streaming Series, Comedy. The Award ceremony will take place on August 22.
