Attack On Titan: 5 One Piece Characters Reiner Could Defeat (& 5 He Couldn't)

Reiner Braun was an early antagonist of the Attack On Titan series and the wielder of the Armored Titan. As a renowned Marleyan warrior, he was strong enough to send Eren flying hundreds of feet with a single punch and durable enough to endure barrages from entire naval fleets.

Although Reiner excels in his own universe, it's important to gauge how well he would fare in another anime series to accurately measure his potential. By matching him against the One Piece roster, we can better determine whether or not the Armored Titan is as unbreakable as his legend suggests.

10 COULD BEAT: Ronse's Generic Weapons Wouldn't Do Him Any Favors

Ronse was a member of the Giant Squad who participated in the battle of Marineford. He was responsible for carving a path toward Whitebeard's ship and even had an opportunity for a direct attack. This suggests that he might have an advantage in skill over Reiner, especially since his race lives for hundreds of years.

However, Reiner has proven exceptionally resilient to generic weapons like Ronse's ax, as proven during the battle of Fort Slava. Therefore, he could withstand the marine's initial blow, exchanging it for a strike his opponent isn't likely to recover from.

9 WOULD LOSE TO: Oars Jr. Has Significantly Higher Durability Than Reiner

Having withstood the attacks of multiple Warlords and the concentrated bombardment of the Marines, Oars Jr. has proven much more durable than Reiner. Although the Armored Titan possesses a unique ability to regenerate, he would only be able to use it if Oars actually gave him time to rest.

Considering that the giant was powerful enough to crush Marineford's walls when no one else could aside from Whitebeard, it follows that he'd pulverize Reiner's armor just as easily.

8 COULD BEAT: Pre-Time Skip Franky Doesn't Have The Arsenal To Meaningfully Hurt Reiner

Before the time skip, Franky's weaponry wasn't sufficient to destroy Reiner's armor. While his strong right and weapons left may have been adequate to puncture Fukurou's Iron Body, the Armored Titan is a much larger and more resilient target.

Franky's only viable weapon is his concentrated hand cannon, a weapon powerful enough to obliterate a large bridge with a single blast. However, considering its imprecise aim and enormous cola cost, it would completely exhaust him to attempt the attack while only moderately wounding Reiner.

7 WOULD LOSE TO: Magellan's Venom Could Melt Reiner's Armor At Higher Doses

Magellan's logia-type Devil Fruit provides a natural counter to Reiner since it makes him immune to physical attacks. Although poison isn't a sufficient way to harm the Armored Titan under ordinary circumstances, the warden's final form would provide him with the key to victory.

When pushing his powers to the limit, he can secrete an acidic fluid potent enough to melt through stones in massive quantities. Such a technique would quickly destroy Reiner's armored body and force him to eject from his titan.

6 COULD BEAT: Daz Bonez Is Well Below Reiner's Weight Class & Uses Identical Abilities

Like Reiner, Daz Bonez had the ability to convert his body into metal. However, he still has limits in this state, as proven through how easily both Mihawk and Zoro cut him down.

Although Daz may have more experience, Reiner is still hundreds of pounds and several times taller than his opponent. Since he was also strong enough to power through an entire swarm of titans, it follows that he'd overwhelm Daz with similar ease.

5 WOULD LOSE TO: Boa Hancock Would Prey Upon Reiner's Lust

Reiner is no stranger to lust. His infatuation with Historia almost distracts him from his duties as a warrior during his mission in Paradis, which means he has a weakness that Boa Hancock could exploit.

Should she disarm Reiner with her wiles, she could use the opportunity to turn his titan into stone. From there, she would only need to obliterate him as easily as she did against the Pacifistas during the battle for Marineford. While Reiner possesses advantages in both strength and durability, Boa's unassuming presence is her greatest asset.

4 COULD BEAT: Ohm Wouldn't Have Enough Metal To Stop Reiner

Ohm was a tremendously powerful high priest of Eneru who wielded a unique blade. It was a pliable sword that he could contort at will in order to create diverse shapes, obstacles, and weapons.

Unfortunately for the villain, his forms were limited based on the mass of the sword itself. Therefore, unless he concealed himself entirely within his weapon, Reiner could simply reach over his defenses and crush him into a bloody paste.

3 WOULD LOSE TO: Ace Could Turn Reiner's Famed Armor Against Him

Ace was a deadly pirate whose affinity for flames would counter Reiner well. Since the titan's plates are made of metal, his flame-based attacks would conduct the giant's defenses and effectively cook the Marleyan from within his own armor. Considering that he was strong enough to obliterate an entire Baroque Works armada with a flick of his wrist, Reiner should be comparatively trivial.

Even if the Armored Titan has a chance to retaliate, Ace's logia-type Devil Fruit would make him impossible to hit. Any attacks would simply phase through his body without causing noticeable harm.

2 COULD BEAT: Hajrudin Lacks Reiner's Armor & Tenacity

Hajrudin was a giant who fared decently well in the tournament to claim the Flame-Flame fruit. In spite of his towering stature and reputation as a warrior from Elbaf, he is upsettingly fragile, as proven through his encounter with Machvise.

Considering that Hajrudin doesn't rely on any weapons that might sunder Reiner's defenses like a war hammer or cannon, he would be at a significant disadvantage. This is especially true since Reiner can regenerate much faster than his opponent does even if he takes substantial injury.

1 WOULD LOSE TO: Hody Jones Balances Speed With Terrifying Precision

Even in his base state, Hody Jones was a terrifying force of nature. He can secrete water from his fingertips powerful enough to shred dozens of massive coral reefs consecutively and even manages to keep up with Roronoa Zoro, who in turn decimates Pacifistas in seconds at his current strength level.

With jaws powerful enough to rip through Luffy's armament Haki, Hody's mouth is a surprising albeit effective counter to Reiner's armor. If he uses energy steroids, the Fish-Man could also survive his opponent's concentrated assault with ease, similar to how he endured Luffy's Elephant Gun technique.
