Diavolo has spent years as the faceless mafia boss of the Passione organization. None of the members know his name or what he looks like, only referring to him as boss. To ensure his true identity remains a secret, Diavolo goes to great lengths, even trying to kill his own daughter.
Team Bucciarati is entrusted with the safety of the boss's daughter, and they plan to keep her safe even if that means protecting her from her father. Once they defect from Passione, Diavolo sends a Special Squad to stop them. Despite being elite assassins and Diavolo's personal guards, the Special Squad didn't stand a chance against Team Bucciarati and is ultimately defeated.
6 Carne's Stand Roams The Seas For All Eternity
When Carne makes his appearance, it doesn't take long for Mista to take him out using his Stand, Six Bullets. Thinking Carne's Stand died along with him, Team Bucciarati boards a plane. After getting on the plane, it becomes apparent that some other entity is on the plane with them.
Carne's Stand, Notorious Chase, makes quick work of Team Bucciarati and the plane, causing Trish's Stand, Spicy Lady, to make its first appearance. Spicy Lady completely pulverizes Notorious Chase. However, the attack is not enough to defeat the invincible Stand. Using Spicy Lady once again, Trish creates a parachute out of one half of the plane, sending Notorious Chase chasing the larger, faster half of the falling plane. It crashes into the ocean and dooms Notorious Chase to a lifetime of chasing endless waves.
5 Tiziano Sacrifices Himself For Squalo
To prevent Bucciarati's Team from leaving Venice, Tiziano and Squalo are sent to stop them. Tiziano and Squalo send out their Stands together against Narancia. Unable to voice what is happening because of Tiziano's Stand, Talking Head, Narancia faces the duo alone.
Narancia tracks Tiziano and Squalo to the streets of Venice. In order for the injured Squalo to use his Stand, Crush, again, Tiziano jumps in front of Little Bomber, sacrificing himself and providing Squalo with his blood as a liquid for Crush to appear. Tiziano then dies in Squalo's arms.
4 Squalo Is Taken Out By Little Bomber
Squalo attacks Narancia using his Stand, Crush, while he is eating at a restaurant with Team Bucciarati. Squalo and Tiziano successfully separate Narancia from the rest of the group and use their combined Stands to put him at a disadvantage.
However, Narancia uses his Little Bomber to track them and injures Squalo. He pinpoints his location by focusing on his breathing. After witnessing Tiziano die, Squalo is bent on avenging his partner. He attempts to rip out Narancia's throat with his Stand, but Narancia is unphased and instead attacks and defeats Squalo.
3 Cioccolata Is Outsmarted By Giorno
After the other members of Diavolo's Special Squad fail, Cioccolata is dispatched. With his infectious mold, he nearly defeats Team Bucciarati and causes mass destruction all over Rome. When he faces off against Giorno, however, he is outsmarted.
Giorno expertly uses his Stand's, Gold Experience's, abilities to send a bullet flying through Cioccolata's head. While keeping him distracted and touting that he will spare his life if he does not try to attack again, the bullet transforms into a beetle. The beetle bursts out of Cioccolata's head as he faces defeat in the form of several punches from Gold Experience. He lands in a trash compactor, never to be heard from again.
2 Secco Ends Up In The Same Place As Cioccolata
After Cioccolata's death, Secco faces Bucciarati alone. Using his abilities, he causes quite the damage to Bucciarati and proves to be even faster than Bucciarati's Stand, Zipper Man. The battle moves underground, where Bucciarati uses his zippers to try and escape.
When back on solid ground again, Bucciarati pops a nearby tire, busting his and Secco's eardrums, eliminating Secco's ability to track him by sound. Once he realizes Bucciarati has the upper hand, he grabs a hostage, who just so happens to be Doppio. Bucciarati uses Zipper Man to punch a hole through Doppio to attack Secco. In a panic, Secco tries to break free and ends up tripping and landing in the same trash compactor as Cioccolata.
1 Doppio's Last Moments Are Spent Thinking Of His Boss
Doppio's death is rather anti-climatic. His soul is swapped with Bucciarati's when Chariot Requiem is set loose in Rome. Team Bucciarati realizes that Diavolo's soul is possibly in Bucciarati's body, so they keep a close eye on him to make sure he doesn't try to attack them.
When Bucciarati's body begins to move, Mista quickly shoots him, not knowing that Doppio's soul inhabits Bucciarati. Doppio realizes that Diavolo sacrificed him in order to survive, and, even though he is dying, he supports Diavolo's decision. Doppio ends up dying on the streets of Rome, wanting to hear from Diavolo one last time.
