When the U.A. High students participate in these battles, they always learn something new. Every student is much stronger now than they were at the beginning of the manga, and have proven time and time again that they have the potential to become impressive heroes.

The last entry of this list includes spoilers for chapters 317-321 of the My Hero Academia manga.

10 Lemillion Put Up A Good Fight Against Overhaul, Even While Quirkless

Lemillion quickly became a fan favorite, partially thanks to his climactic battle against Overhaul. He took a bullet in order to protect Eri even though he knew it would cost him his Quirk, and was still able to comfort her afterwards. He continued to fight Overhaul without his Quirk and managed to land a blow on him. He proved that he didn't need a Quirk to be a hero and protect someone.

9 All Of The Students In Team 2 Had A Chance To Shine In Class 1-A's Battle Vs Class 1-B

This class versus class battle proved that the students of 1-A and 1-B were equals, all with a lot of potential. Putting Itsuka Kendo's strategizing skills against Momo Yaoyorozu's made this match in particular an even one.

Momo was able to slow Itsuka's movements despite being unconscious, and Fumikage Tokoyami showed off his ability to fly. However, Kinoko Komori's Mushroom Quirk proved to be one of the scariest Quirks ever shown in the manga.

8 Katsuki Bakugo's Fight With Ochaco Uraraka Was Closer Than Everyone Expected

Although Deku offered to help Ochaco come up with a strategy to defeat Katsuki, she turned him down since she wanted to prove herself. Her classmates didn't have much confidence in her, and even some heroes assumed that Katsuki was toying with her.

However, she proved her battle sense by using the debris to attack and took a good number of hits before falling. Additionally, Katsuki was smart enough to take her seriously the entire time.

7 The Students Found A Way To Save Bakugo Without Interfering In All Might's Fight

Fans regard All Might's battle against All For One as one of the best in the entire series. Not only did mangaka Kohei Horikoshi subvert expectations by keeping him alive, but All Might was able to pull off a win against such a powerful enemy. The small group of students who wanted to rescue Bakugo managed to avoid getting involved in the fight directly, but took Bakugo to a safe place, giving All Might one less thing to worry about.

6 Dabi's Battle Against Endeavor And Shoto Todoroki Came With A Shocking Reveal

Dabi used his relationship with Endeavor to sadistically destroy the citizens' trust in Pro Heroes. He revealed their shared past, and Endeavor, so shocked at seeing his long-lost son alive, wasn't able to move.

Dabi proved just how twisted he was, using his flames despite the damage they dealt to his body. Dabi landed more of an emotional blow during this battle, enough that his powerful family was unable to defeat him.

5 Ida, Deku, and Todoroki's Fight Against Stain Was Better In The Manga

Stain was a terrifying example of how someone with good intentions could become completely warped. Without meaning to, Ida was almost corrupted by Stain's influence, to the point where he ignored someone in need for the sake of his revenge.

Stain appears much more frightening in black and white manga panels, adding to the tension that the three unlicensed students were feeling when they went up against him.

4 Present Mic's Battle Against Koji Koda And Kyoka Jiro Was Humorously Terrifying

Koji and Kyoka found Present Mic to be a challenging opponent since their Quirks revolved around sound. Thanks to the sheer power of his sound, neither student could feasibly approach him. Kyoka came up with the idea of controlling bugs, some of which included centipedes, worms, and spiders. Seeing such creepy animals crawl up Present Mic's leg was both hilarious and horrifying, so fans could understand why he lost.

3 Tamaki Amajiki Defeated 3 Villains On His Own

Despite his introverted personality, Tamaki confidently told the other heroes that he could handle 3 villains by himself. Impressively, he was able to defeat them all with his Manifest Quirk, which allows him to share the attributes of anything he eats. He used octopus tentacles and venom, a bird claw, and even consumed an enemy's gems in order to give himself a solid defense.

2 Match 4 Of Class 1-A's Battle Vs Class 1-B Was Shockingly One-Sided

While Match 2 was an extremely close battle, Match 4 was completely one-sided. Despite this, it was impressive to watch. Bakugo, who had originally been unwilling to work with anyone, displayed a surprising amount of leadership and great teamwork. He did refer to his teammates as minions, but he had a very effective strategy of simply protecting each other. Even Class 1-B was surprised by his character growth, which led to a quick loss.

1 Deku's Fight Against His Classmates Was Thrilling And Impactful

Knowing that All For One would be targeting him, Deku decided against returning to U.A. in order to keep his classmates safe. However, they knew him well enough to know that he would push himself too hard, and decided to go after him.

Deku was at a point where he was pushing everyone away, so they chased him down and used their Quirks to keep him from escaping, telling him all the ways in which he helped them. They used everything they learned from their time together in order to prove that they could really keep up with him.
