Nickelodeon's The Smurfs Sets Premiere Date With New Trailer

Nickelodeon's upcoming CG revival of The Smurfs debuted its first trailer.

The trailer features familiar faces such as Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Brainy, Hefty, Clumsy and the evil Gargamel, concluding with the confirmation that the series premieres Friday, Sept. 10.

Announced in June 2020, The Smurfs features the voice talents of David Freeman as Papa Smurf, Berangere McNeese as Smurfette, Lenny Mark Irons as Gargamel, Youssef El Kaoukibi as Brainy and Catherine Hershey as Willow.

"The Smurfs is an iconic global franchise that has resonated with audiences for decades," ViacomCBS Consumer Products President Pam Kaufman said when the show was announced. "By partnering with LAFIG, we are able to join our creative forces to bring an all-new line of consumer products across multiple categories to consumers, along with a fresh and original animated series."

The Smurfs premieres Friday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon.
