The anime world is filled with great series, and for the past fifteen years, One Piece has been at the top in terms of popularity and success. One Piece has always focused on the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates, and over the course of their journey, the crew has literally met hundreds of characters. Most of these characters are either pirates or marines, and they tend to have a unique trait, ability, or backstory.
One Piece's story is so big that it required a two-year timeskip in order for the main characters to each receive a significant power-up. Most of the story after the timeskip is set in the New World region, and even more characters have been introduced. However, some of these post-timeskip characters are more liked than others.
10 Oden Was A Lovable Fool
Kozuki Oden died before Luffy was even born, which makes him one of the only major characters in the series whom the Straw Hat Captain has never interacted with. When he was younger, Oden got into a lot of fights, and he committed outrageous acts quite often.
He eventually becomes less selfish and decides to help the people of Wano, but he soon sets sail with Whitebeard. He then joins the Roger Pirates. When he returns home, he attempts to open Wano's borders, but he is stopped by Orochi and Kaido. This lovable fool ends up sacrificing his dignity and life to protect his people and friends.
9 Tama Is Adorable & Very Important
Otama lives in the Kuri region of Wano, and she has been close to Luffy ever since he rescued her from some of Kaido's scouts. This 8-year-old ninja in training is absolutely adorable, and she is incredibly brave and friendly, despite the fact that she can be very careless at times.
Otama is by no means Luffy's strongest ally, but her Devil Fruit power has made her a very important character. In the anime, war has finally come to Wano, and fans will soon see Otama become a savior of sorts when she uses her ability to create cheek dumplings that can tame members of Kaido's crew. It is thanks to her that the Straw Hats' receive much-needed backup.
8 Kin'emon Is Extremely Loyal
Loyalty is a quality Luffy shares with many other One Piece characters, including Kin'emon. When he was younger, Kin'emon was an arrogant and rude individual who resorted to thievery, but he turned his life around after meeting Oden.
He became one of Oden's most loyal retainers, and that loyalty carried over to Oden's son, Momonosuke. Kin'emon has protected Momonosuke with his life, but what really makes him a likable character is the fact that he is a skilled and courageous swordsman. He also refuses to give up when he is forced to deal with adversity.
7 Pedro Sacrificed Himself To Help The Straw Hats
Pedro was a Jaguar Mink who captained the Nox Pirates, and when he returned to Zou, he defended his home as a Guardian. He was fairly cautious and distrusting of strangers, but he helped his allies whenever necessary, and he was extremely loyal to those he followed.
Pedro joined Luffy and half of the Straw Hats when they went to rescue Sanji from Big Mom, and he ended up sacrificing himself in order to make sure the Straw Hats escaped. Some fans believe that Pedro was another avoidable death, but without his sacrifice, the Straw Hats' journey would have probably ended. It helped that Pedro was also a skilled and ferocious fighter.
6 Despite His Size, Leo Has A Warrior's Heart
The Dressrosa Arc was incredibly long, but it ended with Luffy gaining a fleet of his own. The Straw Hat Grand Fleet is comprised of seven pirate crews, including the Tontatta Pirates, who are captained by Leo. He may look like a fairy, but Leo is actually a dwarf, and he possesses a Devil Fruit that allows him to stitch things together.
Leo is an adorable and proud warrior who will do anything to protect his people. Like other dwarves, Leo is extremely gullible, which in this case, makes him even cuter and more likable. He happens to be quite oblivious as well, which leads to funny interactions between him and Princess Mansherry.
5 Bartolomeo Is Luffy's Biggest Fan
Bartolomeo is a super rookie, and he becomes a pirate after seeing Luffy escape from Loguetown's execution platform, which is why he has tremendous respect for the Straw Hat Captain. Bartolomeo is a member of Luffy's Grand Fleet, and he has a Devil Fruit that allows him to create barriers. He may not look like a likable character, but he is very laid-back and protective of his crewmates.
4 Rebecca Tried To Free Her People From Doflamingo
Doflamingo ruled Dressrosa for years after taking it from the Royal Family. Rebecca was once the kingdom's crown princess, but she forfeited her title in order to spend more time with her father. Doflamingo is the reason why Rebecca's mother died, and when she sees how her people are being treated, she vows to kill the former Warlord.
Rebecca trained to become a gladiator, and she later entered the Corrida Coliseum tournament to win the Flame-Flame Fruit, which was how she met Luffy. She gets very emotional at times, but fans love her because she is a perfect example of a female warrior who is both brave and proud.
3 Kyros Did Everything He Could To Protect His Daughter
Kyros is a legendary gladiator from Dressrosa, as well as Rebecca's father. When Doflamingo took control of the kingdom, he attempted to kill Kyros' father-in-law, the King, but the gladiator was transformed into a toy soldier instead. He remained a toy for a decade, but he never left his daughter's side.
Rebecca thought her father was gone, and Kyros was okay with it, but he continued to protect and train her. Fans like Kyros because of his devotion to his daughter, but it helps that he is also a brutal yet kind fighter.
2 Katakuri Is Strong & Ruthless, But Also Honorable
One of the series' most exciting fights was between Luffy and Charlotte Katakuri, who happened to be Big Mom's strongest child. Katakuri possesses a Devil Fruit which allows him to create, control, and transform into mochi. This may sound like a weird Devil Fruit power, but it is indeed powerful along with his Armament and Observation Haki.
In terms of appearance, Katakuri looks intimidating, though he is known for being calm and serious and is very blunt in battle when dealing with someone weaker. He has a sense of honor as well, as he intentionally injured himself to be on Luffy's level after he learned that his sister interfered with their fight.
1 Carrot Needs To Become Part Of The Straw Hats
Carrot is a rabbit Mink who has accompanied the Straw Hats since they left Zou. She is a member of the Inuarashi Musketeer Squad, which means that she is a capable fighter. Her strength significantly increases when she transforms into her elegant Sulong form, but she still might need a power-up moving forward.
A lot of fans want Carrot to officially join the Straw Hats, and it's completely understandable since she is incredibly cute and lovable. She can be naïve and childish at times, but she is also quite clever and vicious when she needs to be.
