The Pokémon Company announces a collaboration with a variety of musicians to celebrate Pokémon's 25th Anniversary.
Vince Staples and Cyn are officially contributing songs to Pokémon 25: The Red EP, an album dedicated to celebrating the long-running franchise. The EP currently features three songs, the first of which is Mabel's "Take It Home," unveiled in July. The album is currently available on Spotify, YouTube Music, Tidal and Apple Music. Staples and Cyn join the ranks of Katy Perry, Post Malone and J Balvin, all of whom have already contributed music to Pokémon 25.

Fans listening to Pokémon 25: The Red EP can expect to hear Vince Staples "Got 'Em," a song about facing life's challenges head-on, inspired by "iconic Pokémon characters Mew and Raichu." Staples has reportedly been a fan of Pokémon for years, saying “I’m excited for people to hear ‘Got 'Em,’ and hope the song resonates with fans, especially those who grew up with Pokémon like I did.”
Cyn's contribution to Pokémon 25: The Red EP is "Wonderful," a song that celebrates life and the joys of friendship. "This song is special to me because I feel it comments on growing pains while also emphasizing a destination of grace and a beautiful journey to it— eggs hatch when they want to or in other words, when they are ready," says Cyn. "When I wrote this song, my newborn baby son was in the room— I can hear the influence of becoming a new mother in the music, it will always ring special for me.”
Following the release of Pokémon 25: The Red EP, fans can expect even more celebratory music with the release of Pokémon 25: The Blue EP. Mirroring the dual-release of every mainline Pokémon game, Pokémon 25: The Blue EP will feature remixes of all the songs released on The Red EP by Grammy-nominated artist ZHU. Pokémon 25: The Blue EP will launch this August.
"The Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue video games introduced the world to Pokémon 25 years ago and we wanted to recognize that important part of the franchise in our 25th-anniversary celebrations within the P25 Music campaign," said Colin Palmer, vice president of marketing, The Pokémon Company International. "Pokémon fans will appreciate the nod to the first Pokémon video games with these EPs, while music fans will enjoy new songs and remixes from exciting artists on these dual collections."
All the tracks included in Pokémon 25: The Red EP will appear in the P25 music compilation album, which will release this autumn. ZHU's remixes will be included in the digital version of the album.
