Dick Grayson began his crimefighting career as Batman's sidekick, Robin. He then retired from the role to start a new legacy as Nightwing. Now, DC is taking a look back at Dick's "Year One" story as Robin in a new miniseries.
CBR has the exclusive details and the first look at Robin & Batman, a three-issue miniseries from the Eisner-winning creative of writer Jeff Lemire (Sweet Tooth) and artist Dustin Nguyen (Batman). This will be the first series for the duo after completing their run on Descender and Ascender.
A preview of Robin & Batman #1 finds Dick Grayson in a pre-Robin outfit, fighting a group of criminals while Batman monitors the situation through Dick's earpiece. Just as things begin to escalate, Batman tells Dick that he's coming in to resolve the matter. However, Dick is insistent that he has everything under control and removes his earpiece to clean up his own mess. The final page shows Dick triumphant, even as the Batmobile screeches in a few seconds too late.
Robin & Batman #1 by Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen goes on sale Nov. 9 from DC.
