It's possible that Nick Fury's Phase 4 story will not only tie into Secret Invasion, but The Marvels as well.
"Guess what time it is! Back in the box, just in The Nick of time!" Jackson wrote on his Instagram page, accompanied by a series of Fury-related photos. One features a mannequin-like stand sporting the S.H.I.E.L.D. director's trademark mustache, soul patch and beard. The others reveal a shirt featuring a hand holding Captain Marvel's Transmitter Pager, which Fury used in Avengers: Infinity War to contact Carol Danvers before getting Blipped.
While Marvel has not announced another collaboration between Jackson and Larson yet, he will lead Disney+'s Secret Invasion series alongside Captain Marvel co-star Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos. This follows the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, which revealed that Talos and his wife Soren had been posing as Fury and Maria Hill on Earth while the real Fury was stationed on a Skrull-run spaceship. WandaVision's finale also foreshadowed Secret Invasion, with Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) learning from an undercover Skrull operative that Fury wanted to see her sometime in the future.
Recently, Larson confirmed that Captain Marvel's sequel, The Marvels, has begun production. The film will see Captain Marvel team up with a now-adult Rambeau following their '90s encounter and, according to Parris, expand upon a WandaVision plot thread alluding to Rambeau's now-estranged relationship with Danvers. Joining them is Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel, whose upcoming Disney+ show will reportedly debut sometime in 2022. Like in the comics, Kamala adopts a version of Danvers' name as her superhero title, though it's unknown whether Marvel Studios will make their live-action Ms. Marvel an Inhuman as well.
Secret Invasion stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, with Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Christopher McDonald in undisclosed roles. Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim will serve as directors. The Disney+ series has yet to receive a premiere date. Meanwhile, The Marvels, starring Brie Larson, Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris, soars into theaters Nov. 11, 2022.
