The Suicide Squad Has a Guardians of the Galaxy Cameo, Says Gunn

The Suicide Squad writer/director James Gunn has confirmed the DC movie has a cameo from a Guardians of the Galaxy cast member.

During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Gunn stated there "might be a Guardian somewhere in the film that no one has seen yet." He added, "I've gotten a hundred reviews from this movie and I'm just astounded [nobody has mentioned it]."

Gunn, of course, has made it known that he believes a crossover movie between DC and Marvel could be a possibility nowadays, having first brought this idea up in 2019 during a Q&A on Instagram. "In the past I would have said no way," Gunn stated, "but today I think anything is possible."

In addition, Gunn also recently revealed he had pitched a crossover film to both Marvel Studios and DC Films, which the higher-ups were both open to. They said the idea "of being able to bring Marvel and DC together in a movie is, that would be really fun for me."

"And I know it's exciting for even the heads of Marvel and DC to think about Kevin Feige over at Marvel and Toby Emmerich over at Warner Bros.," Gunn added. "You know, it's something we all like to dream about. Whether we could ever get through the barrage, the Berlin Wall of lawyers we would need to get through to ever make something like that happen, I don't know, but it would be a blast."

Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad is out simultaneously in theaters and streaming on HBO Max.
