There are a lot of great characters in Attack on Titan. Annie Leonhart is the inheritor of the Female Titan, one of Marley's warriors that was sent to Paradis to find the Founding Titan, and the first main antagonist who the Survey Corps had to fight.
Unapproachable and aggressive, many wouldn't think of her as the friendliest character in the series. However, that didn't stop her from getting very close to some of the people she met throughout the series.
10 Marlowe Was One Of The Soldiers In The Military Police Annie Was Friendly With
Annie was the only soldier from the 104th Cadet Corps Southern Division to join the Military Police. There, she met a few of her new comrades, including Marlowe, who hoped that he could make that branch of the military better due to how corrupted it was.
Though they didn't get to spend a lot of time with each other, Annie thought highly of him and challenged his views, which changed his life as he would later decide to join the Survey Corps.
9 Eren And Annie Trained With Each Other, And He Didn't Want To Fight Her
During her time in the 104th Cadet Corps, Annie made sure not to get too close to her comrades. However, she would train with Eren, even teaching him some things that she learned before becoming a soldier. When he found out that she was the Female Titan, he didn't want to believe it at first.
However, he ended up fighting her, and in order to survive, she formed an indestructible crystal around her body. Years later, when Eren was able to use the Founding Titan's powers, he set her free as he started the Rumbling. Even after she needed to stop him from destroying the world, she was sad to see him die.
8 Reiner And Annie Have Been Through A Lot Together
Reiner and Annie have known each other since they were children, both being warrior candidates in Marley. When she inherited the Female Titan, he received the Armored Titan, and the two would work together to bring the Founding Titan to Marley.
During this time, however, Reiner relied so much on Annie and forced her to do things that she didn't want to, which caused her to despise him. Luckily, towards the end of the manga, she was able to forgive him and the two spent time with each other years after stopping the Rumbling.
7 Bertholdt Had A Crush On Annie, And The Two Worked With Each Other Since Childhood
Like the other warriors, Annie knew Bertholdt since they were children, and over the years, he grew romantic feelings towards her. Though he was Reiner's best friend and often supported his decisions, Bertholdt also tried to be there for Annie when they went to Paradis.
He always wanted to keep her safe, which became one of his weaknesses when Armin used his feelings for her against him.
6 Marcel's Death Hurt Annie A Lot
When the warriors originally went to Paradis, Marcel was supposed to be their leader. However, he ended up sacrificing himself when Ymir almost ate Reiner.
Annie was devastated over this and took her anger out on Reiner, which is when she first started to hate him, showing that she really did care about Marcel. Despite his death giving her the possible opportunity to go back to Marley like she wanted, she also didn't want her friend to die.
5 Hitch Spent The Most Time With Annie During Her Time In Paradis
Like Marlowe, Hitch was another soldier who Annie got to know when she was in the Military Police. The two of them were roommates that would do favors for each other, as seen in the spin-off, Attack on Titan: Lost Girls.
After Annie used her hardening ability to put herself in her crystal, Hitch watched over her and was the person she spent the most time with. When Annie was free, Hitch helped her out again until the two went their separate ways.
4 Jean Became One Of Annie's Closest Comrades By The End Of The Manga
While Jean and Annie barely knew each other as soldiers in the 104th Cadet Corps and became enemies shortly after, they were close friends by the end of the manga. Annie and Jean, along with other members from the Survey Corps and Warrior Unit, joined forces in order to save the world, giving the two of them a bond that most people couldn't emulate.
Even after they stopped the Rumbling, the two spent a lot of time together, along with some of the other survivors. As comrades, they had a new goal, which was to make the world as peaceful as possible for as long as they could.
3 Connie Would Have Died If It Weren't For Annie
Despite not spending much time together during training, Annie did value Connie's life over her mission when they fought against a group of titans in Trost. As he was just about to be eaten, she came to his rescue, causing Reiner to question her loyalty.
Years later, Annie and Connie met again, and if it weren't for him, she may not have teamed up with the other warriors and soldiers. Like Jean, Connie became a very close friend of hers after they defeated Eren.
2 Pieck And Annie Trained Together When They Were Kids And Saved The World Together
While Annie may have been friends with some of the other warriors, she usually had some conflict with them. However, Pieck and Annie always seemed to get along. Though, part of that may have been due to them not having seen each other since Annie went to Paradis.
The two wouldn't work together since training until they fought Eren. Finally reunited, they were still friends years after stopping the Rumbling.
1 Armin And Annie Always Believed In Each Other
Annie always cared about Armin, wanting to spare his life despite being his enemy at the beginning of the series. In fact, he was arguably her biggest threat since he was the one that figured out that she was the Female Titan.
After he inherited the Colossal Titan, he could remember Bertholdt's past, making him want to visit Annie while she was in her crystal. Armin was with Connie when the two met Annie again when the Rumbling started. If it weren't for him, Annie may not have helped save the world. Annie always saw him as a great leader and believed in him.
