Creepshow Season 3 is back to terrify genre fans. The series follows in the footsteps of its 1982 film predecessor and delivers a slew of short creepy tales. Past episodes have included '80s-inspired creature features, high-camp demonic possessions, and, of course, more serious storylines. Season 3 looks to be no exception, kicking off with "Mums" and "Queen Bee."
This CBR-exclusive clip delivers an intense scene from "Mums," which is based on a short story by Stephen King's son and acclaimed horror novelist, Joe Hill. It opens with a father talking with his son Jack in the kitchen. While throwing a glance at the woman seated at the kitchen table, the father asks Jack, "Is everything okay? It's really unfortunate that you had to see that yesterday. But you need to understand, it's probably for the best."
Jack immediately asks, "Is she coming back?" His father replies, "No, not anytime soon." The answer seemed to break Jack, whose eyes glistened with tears.
The person in question is Jack's mother. The father informs his son that she wanted to run off to "drink and take her pills." He continues, "You need to understand that she eventually would've chosen those things over you." Jack remains in denial, shaking his head. However, his father recounts a "heartbreaking" incident at the police station before she went to a halfway house. The clip concludes with him encouraging Jack to "stand tall and be strong." Knowing Creepshow, it seems likely that Jack's father is hiding something from his son.
According to the official synopsis for "Mums,"
