The first three episodes of Doom Patrol Season 3 are now available to stream on HBO Max.
The first three episodes -- "Possibilities Patrol," "Vacay Patrol" and "Dead Patrol" -- all dropped on Sept. 23. New episodes will continue to arrive on the streaming platform every Thursday, albeit one at a time.
Based on the eponymous team of bizarre DC characters, Doom Patrol debuted in 2019 on DC Universe before being folded into HBO Max. The show centers on a ragtag band of unlikely heroes such as Rita Farr/Elasti-Girl, Larry Trainor/Negative Man, Cliff Steele/Robotman and Victor Stone/Cyborg, who're united by the Chief to battle threats like Mr. Nobody and Doctor Tyme.
Season 3 finds the team battling even more foes, most notably Michelle Gomez's Madame Rouge. "I felt like I had come home," Gomez explained about joining Doom Patrol. " I really felt like with all the shows that have gone before, it was all kind of leading to Doom Patrol. I really felt immediately comfortable in this world because it was bringing to bear everything that I'd done before. The thing about Doom Patrol is that it’s a show for adults that enjoy the sort of anarchic world that we’re all actually living in on a day to day basis. But it takes that stuff, a crazy world where people are really struggling with who they are and are kind of running in the opposite direction of whatever their powers may be. It’s like an illustration of where we're at as human beings."
Other new faces in Season 3 include the Sisterhood of the Dada, the Brotherhood of Evil and the Dead Boy Detectives, as well as hyper-obscure characters like the alien Garguax. "He was quite the fearful presence back in the '50s, but since then he's been living a very different existence," showrunner Jeremy Carver recently said. "Will he continue to be loyal to an evil leader, or will he be loyal to himself? It's not unlike the Doom Patrol questioning where they stand in the aftermath of their own tragedy."
New episodes of Doom Patrol premiere every Thursday on HBO Max.
