As the event returns for a second time, DC FanDome introduces DC FanDome Fridays to count down to the extravaganza.
The news was announced by DC on social media, featuring a video from DC Comics icon and Publisher and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee. Lee promises that the event "back by popular demand" will provide more content for fans to enjoy each week leading up to the event on Oct. 16, 2021. This will be seen through DC FanDome Fridays, which promises to deliver a variety of content for DC enthusiasts to chomp down on before the main experience is held virtually around the world.
"Every Friday, leading up to October 16, we will be doing DC FanDome Fridays, where we will be dropping content, products, downloads and much more for you to enjoy," said Lee in the video. Lee can be seen talking to viewers with a virtual cityscape behind him, stating that each week will offer something a little bit different for DC's wide mix of fans. He makes a point to say that this includes the likes of comic book fanatics, movie goers, cosplayers and more.
For the first Friday of these weekly occurrences, Lee said that "we'll be exploring the legacy that is DC by celebrating the past, the present, and the future of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains. From their iconic comic book origins to their greatest adventures in movies, television, video games, animation and more." While this was being said, viewers caught a glimpse of images from the movie Wonder Woman 1984, the popular fighting game Injustice 2, the comic book series Infinite Frontier and much more.
All of this weekly content will have to hold fans over until the feast of news and additional looks at the entertainment mediums they have been craving are released. A trailer for the event has already teased that fans will be receiving additional looks at movies like The Batman, Black Adam, The Flash and more, some of which have not even had a trailer released yet. Additional looks at games like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which were first seen at last year's FanDome, are also expected, along with first looks at content such as HBO Max's Peacemaker series.
For fans who want to be even more a part of the experience, Lee encourages them to send in examples of their fandom devotion to have the chance to be seen during the event and on DC's social media platforms. According to the Talenthouse link included in the post, these examples can include tattoos, makeup tutorials, cosplays and much more. Fans can now register for and tune in to DC FanDome on Oct. 16, 2021.
