My Hero Academia: 5 Characters Who Could Wield The Infinity Gauntlet (And 5 Who Couldn't)

With the release of Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has reached the end of an era. In the movie, Tony Stark makes the ultimate sacrifice, using the Infinity Gauntlet to defeat Thanos and his forces. A tool for both good and evil, the Gauntlet holds the six Infinity Stones, concentrated ingots born out of the remnants of six singularities.

The incredible power hidden within the Infinity Gauntlet has made some fans think of alternate scenarios, starring characters from other franchises. In My Hero Academia, both heroes and villains could wield the Infinity Gauntlet to devastating effect. Other characters would not be so lucky, their bodies giving out before they could even snap their fingers.

10 Could Wield It: All For One Still Has The Quirks Necessary To At Least Snap His Fingers

All Might's nemesis and the main villain in My Hero Academia, the mysterious All for One is temporarily defeated by All Might during the Kamino Incident. He has been mortally injured by All Might in the past, so much so that his face is a mass of scar tissue and he is forced to rely on life support.

Even so, All for One still preserves the quirks that always made him so dangerous. He may have lost the battle with All Might, but he recovers from it without significant issues. His durability, stamina, and regeneration abilities remain remarkable. He's also used to channeling a demanding quirk and has survived it for centuries. All For One would at the very least be able to snap his fingers, and he has a fair chance of surviving as well.

9 Couldn't Wield It: All Might Lost His Quirk And His Health Has Seriously Deteriorated

In his prime, the Symbol of Peace All Might would have been able to wield the Infinity Gauntlet – and perhaps even live to tell the tale. But his first confrontation with All for One leads to him receiving a devastating injury. He prevails over the villain but loses his stomach and half his respiratory organs.

His form becomes emaciated and he is only able to use his quirk three hours a day. After the Kamino Incident, the spark of One for All permanently dies inside him. If push came to shove, he would probably attempt to use the Gauntlet, but his body would give out under the pressure.

8 Could Wield It: Tomura Shigaraki Inherits A Whole Arsenal Of Quirks From All For One

The Symbol of Fear, Tomura Shigaraki originally holds only one quirk – Decay. However, through Doctor Kyudai Garaki's experimentations and All for One's plans, he receives his evil mentor's quirk and a significant boost in power. Among other things, this allows him to regenerate from serious injuries, such as one created by Endeavor's Hellflame.

Tomura would doubtlessly be able to wield the Infinity Gauntlet. His sheer desire to destroy would overpower everything else, even if, for whatever reason, his abilities didn't suffice in keeping him safe.

7 Couldn't Wield It: Hawks Is A Powerful Hero But He Would Be Vulnerable To Intense Radiation

The Number Two Hero, Hawks, has already proven his great skill and determination throughout the campaign against the Paranormal Liberation Front. His quirk, Fierce Wings, is perhaps one of the most versatile ones in the world of My Hero Academia. The appendages are so powerful he can use his primary feathers as slashing weapons. To top it off, he can telekinetically control each feather, a skill that is priceless during civilian rescues.

But despite his many talents, Hawks does have his weaknesses. He's vulnerable to fire, as proven by the damage he takes from Dabi. He is fast, but he's only as strong and durable as his less-than-ethical training has made him. That's not quite enough for him to wield the Infinity Gauntlet. If he did try, he would most certainly die in the process.

6 Could Wield It: Gigantomachia Could Be A Less Intelligent Version Of The Mad Titan

The terrifying villain Gigantomachia is All for One's most loyal servant and bodyguard. As illustrated by his name, he is a gigantic creature, the size of a small mountain. His strength and durability are off the charts, and on top of everything, he's been given additional quirks by All for One. In a way, he's a less intelligent, larger version of the Mad Titan. He would certainly be able to wield the Infinity Gauntlet, assuming it fit him, at least.

5 Couldn't Wield It: Best Jeanist's Injuries Automatically Disqualify Him

Like All Might, the Fiber Hero: Best Jeanist suffers from a serious injury in the Kamino Incident. He is attacked by All for One and, although he miraculously survives, he loses one lung. Following his convalescence, he is placed in a form of induced coma in order to allow Hawks to earn the League of Villains' trust. Severely weakened by his injury and the following medical procedure, he would definitely not be able to wield the Infinity Gauntlet.

4 Could Wield It: Endeavor's Mastery Over Hellflame Would Allow Him To Use The Gauntlet

The Flame Hero: Endeavor is the sole hero who has ever tried to reach All Might while the Symbol of Peace was still in his prime. In the process, he sacrificed his own family, so fixated on his obsession he didn't care about who he hurt in the process.

Despite his personal failings and questionable moral quality, Endeavor remains one of the most powerful heroes in the world of MHA. The strength of his quirk combined with his indomitable will would allow him to use the Infinity Gauntlet. The radiation may overwhelm him after that, but he would succeed, nevertheless.

3 Couldn't Wield It: Dabi's Body Is Fragile Due To The Damage Done By His Own Quirk

Endeavor's son, Touya Todoroki – also known as the villain Dabi – wouldn't be as lucky as his father. He is born with a body resistant to ice and a fire quirk even stronger than his father's. A quirk accident with Cremation left him permanently scarred. His burns are so bad he no longer has tear ducts and he cries blood. These are probably just a few of the health issues Dabi has to struggle with. It's very likely that merely putting the Gauntlet on would make Dabi keel over.

2 Could Wield It: Deku's One For All Would Support Him In Shouldering The Burden

Izuku Midoriya has grown a lot since his days as a quirkless child. He's been learning how to make One for All his own and has managed to uncover its true potential in a way All Might never did. Izuku has significantly injured himself in the past using his quirk, causing permanent damage to his hands. Even so, he's always demonstrated immense strength and durability.

With him finally beginning to embrace his true potential, Izuku would be able to use the Infinity Gauntlet. As One for All is a stockpiling quirk, it would help him shoulder the burden. It would still most likely cost him a hand.

1 Couldn't Wield It: Hitoshi Shinsou's Mental Quirk Would Do Nothing To Help Him

While there are a lot of competent students at U.A., many of them just as capable as Izuku, most wouldn't be able to wield the kind of power the Gauntlet can offer. Take Hitoshi Shinsou. Despite having a very powerful mental quirk, Hitoshi was unable to join the Department of Heroes at U.A. and was instead relegated to General Education.

Under Eraserhead's tutelage, he has been mastering his quirk and learning hand-to-hand combat. Even so, he's completely unprepared for something like the Infinity Gauntlet. It may very well kill him the moment he tried to put it on.
