Pitch Perfect Heads to Peacock in a Straight-to-Series Order

Peacock has given a straight-to-series order to a Pitch Perfect spinoff show.

The series will pick up with Adam Devine's character, Bumper Allen, several years after the events of the Pitch Perfect movies and follow him as he moves to Germany to revive his music career after one of his songs becomes a hit in Berlin. Devine will also serve as an executive producer on the show, as will Elizabeth Banks and Max Handelman, Paul Brooks and Scott Neimeyer, and Megan Amram.

Adapted from Mickey Rapkin's non-fiction book Pitch Perfect: The Quest for Collegiate a Cappella Glory, Pitch Perfect stars Anna Kendrick as Beca Mitchell, a freshman at Bardem University who gets roped into joining the school's all-girl a cappella group, The Bardem Bellas. The 2012 musical comedy was a surprise critical and commercial that gave rise to a pair of film sequels released in 2015 and 2017. Banks, who plays the collegiate a cappella commentator Gail Abernathy-McKadden in the movies, made her feature-length directing debut on Pitch Perfect 2, in addition to producing all three films.

NBCUniversal has yet to announce a premiere date for the Pitch Perfect spinoff series.
