Shang-Chi Is the MCU's Most Popular Movie Ever According to Rotten Tomatoes

Beyond its successful box office numbersShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings now boasts an even more prestigious honor: It's currently the most popular film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to review score aggregator Rotten TomatoesShang-Chi boasts an audience score of 98%. While its critic score sits a very respectable 92%, fans have been showing Marvel's master of martial arts plenty of love. The only other film to come close to matching Shang-Chi's audience score is 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home which is currently sitting on 95%.

The audience summary provided by Rotten Tomatoes reads, "Shang-Chi covers new cultural ground for the MCU without losing any of the action, comedy, and emotion Marvel's movies are known for." Both fans and critics alike have praised Marvel's latest film for its well-written narrative, elaborate fight scene choreography and emotionally resonant characters.

It's worth noting that Shang-Chi's popularity isn't just in relation to films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Series like WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Loki all boast impressive audience scores but the only show that stands a chance of dethroning the Simu Liu-led blockbuster is Marvel's What If...?an anthology series dedicated to taking well-known story beats in the MCU and approaching them from a different angle. What If...? currently holds an audience score 93%.
