Titans Resurrects Donna Troy/Wonder Girl | CBR

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Titans Season 3, Episode 9, "Souls," available now on HBO Max.

At the end of Titans Season 2, Donna Troy/Wonder Girl died from electrocution after saving Dawn Granger/Dove and a group of people from a falling tower. This prompted Rachel Roth/Raven to head off to Themyscira in hopes of finding a way to bring her fallen friend back. And by the end of "Souls," the latest episode of Titans Season 3, Donna indeed returns from the dead, though not in the way anyone expected.

Over the course of "Souls," Donna teams up with Tim Drake and Hank Hall/Hawk in the afterlife. Although she's initially reticent to help and doesn't believe there's a way to escape the afterlife, Donna soon decides to help the two. Even as frustrated as she is by her death and the loss of her life, Donna is still committed to helping others above all else. On the bridge, they get ambushed by a group of soul-sucking ghouls, forcing Hawk to stay behind. Donna and Tim, though, cross over. Initially, Titans only shows Tim coming back to life. But as the episode progresses, it's confirmed Donna is also back.

While Rachel works with the Themyscirans to try and perform a ritual for resurrecting Donna, she eventually accepts that her friend isn't coming back, which seems to be the lesson the women of Paradise Island intended for her to learn all along. However, just as she prepares to leave, Rachel rushes into the room where they'd been keeping Donna's body and finds it empty. Donna, for her part, has actually gone to help Bruce Wayne/Batman and keep him from taking his own life.

As "Souls" ends, it's clear Donna is back for good, but just what that might mean for the Titans isn't clear. Donna was a big part of the group, and her death was one of many things that drove Jason Todd/Red Hood to break bad. Her resurrection could then help solidify Jason's return to heroism, while her goodness might be the thing that keeps the Titans from killing Red Hood. Regardless of just what happens next, Donna's return changes Titans in a big way, and it's definitely going to have major repercussions going forward.
