Wonder Woman Gets Induction Into Comic-Con Character Hall of Fame

As part of Wonder Woman's 80th anniversary, the iconic DC hero will be inducted into the Comic-Con Character Hall of Fame.

Wonder Woman's Hall of Fame virtual induction will take place on Thursday, Oct. 21, on the Comic-Con Museum YouTube channel. DC and the Museum will toast Wonder Woman, with comic creators, talent shout-outs and more moments. Fans can also get their hands on Wonderful Women of the World, which is now available in bookstores and comic shops. The anthology showcases 23 women from around the world, as real-world heroes take up the Princess Diana of Themyscira's mantle in their fields of science, sports, activism, diplomacy and more. Some of the influential figures include BeyoncĂ©, Serena Williams, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Greta Thunberg and Malala Yousafzai.

More Wonder Woman comics are also in store, with Wonder Woman: 80 Years of the Amazon Warrior, Wonder Woman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular, Nubia and the Amazons, and Wonder Woman Historia: The AmazonsWonder Woman: 80 Years of the Amazon Warrior is a 400-page comic that follows Diana through her first appearance through some of her most epic battles. The 100-Page Super Spectacular goes on sale Oct. 5 and includes an art montage by Eisner Award-winning artist Yanick Paquette and colorist Nathan Fairbairn.

Nubia and the Amazons (on sale Oct. 19) by writers Vita Ayala and Stephanie Williams and artists Alitha Martinez takes place after Infinite Frontier and follows Nubia as she takes on the duties as queen of Themyscira. Finally, Nov. 16 sees the release of Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons by writer Kelly Sue DeConnick and artist Phil Jimenez explores the Amazon's ancient history. Book One arrives on Nov. 16 with Book Two and Three releasing in spring and fall 2022, respectively. Gene Ha illustrates Book Two and Nicola Scott illustrates Book Three.

Brands and apparel are also getting in on the Wonder Woman hype. The connected fitness company Echelon is unveiling an exclusive line of Wonder Woman-branded apparel and fitness equipment; Venus Williams has an "I Am Wonder Woman activewear line from EleVen; and Zales has a line of jewelry.

Wonder Woman is also getting her very own statue in Burbank, CA, based on a DC Direct statue by cover artist Jenny Frison and digitally sculpted by John Gabriel Mathews. There will also be global experience events in the UK, Spain and France.
