Amphibia Season 3 Premiere Unveils Original Quarantine Song | CBR

Season 3 of Amphibia will premiere with a special, extended episode featuring an original song, titled, "The Quarantine Song."

"The Quarantine Song," with music and lyrics written by TJ Hill, features Anne and the Plantars attempting to entertain themselves while quarantined in Anne's parents' house. For them, quarantine activities include microwaving books and trying on all the clothes in Anne's closet. In an ironic twist, "The Quarantine Song," which will be featured in the premiere episode of Season 3, entitled "The New Normal," was written before the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The third season of Amphibia premieres on Oct. 2.

Following the climactic Season 2 finale, Season 3 of the Emmy-nominated animated series finds Anne and the Plantars in the human world, with Anne finally able to return to her home in Los Angeles. In a wild, new environment, the From Family must learn to navigate the complexities of this modern-day world, conceal their identities as talking frog people and search for a way home. An exclusive clip released by Disney in July 2021 offered a sneak peek of Anne's worlds colliding as the Frog Family and the Bonchuys meeting for the first time.

Season 3's premiere episode, "The New Normal," will feature guest stars Brian Sounalath (Ryan's Mystery Playdate) and series creator Matt Braly's own mother, Ona Braly, as the voices of Anne's parents Mr. and Mrs. Boonchuy. Amphibia, which premiered on Disney Channel in 2019, stars Brenda Song as Anne Boonchuy, Justin Felbinger as Sprig Plantar, Amanda Leighton as Polly Plantar and Disney Legend Bill Farmer as Hop Pop.

The third season will feature a plethora of guest stars like Whoopi Goldberg, RuPaul Charles (RuPaul's Drag Race), Kate Micucci (DuckTales), Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond), Anika Noni Rose (The Princess and the Frog), Archie Yates (Jojo Rabbit), Wallace Shawn (Young Sheldon), Wayne Knight (Seinfeld), Jason Ritter (Gravity Falls), Dana Davis (Craig of the Creek) and Melissa Villaseñor (Saturday Night Live). Season 3 will also feature a 22-minute Christmas special with a special song written by Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugar.

Created and executive produced by Matt Braly (Gravity Falls), the third season of Amphibia premieres on Disney Channel on Oct. 2., with new episodes debuting every Saturday through Nov. 27. The first two seasons of Amphibia are currently available to stream on Disney+, and new Season 3 episodes will be available on the streaming service in Fall 2021.
