Marvel's villains are often just as iconic as their heroes, a dangerous and intimidating lot of antagonists who will stop at nothing to have their way. Fans have flocked to the battles between the heroes and villains for years, cataclysmic clashes that sometimes put the fate of the universe at stake. An interesting aspect of Marvel's villains is just how different they are. Some of them are almost sympathetic, with motives that are pretty understandable but others are little more than pure evil.
These villains are the most dangerous. They've done nothing good for the world, existing only to spread misery and destruction.
10 The Magus Is The Darkness Inside Adam Warlock
Adam Warlock is one of the purest heroes in the Marvel Universe but in another universe, things turned out very differently for him. He became the Magus and enslaved the galaxy, fooling everyone using a new religion that he was the head of. Warlock would defeat him and close off his universe but the Magus has returned several times, even gaining the Infinity Gauntlet.
The Magus is all of the darkness inside of Adam Warlock with none of the good. He is a rapacious monster, existing only to destroy and control all in his way.
9 Annihilus Is A Brutal Monster From The Negative Zone
Annihilus is one of the most dangerous beings in the Marvel Universe. Hailing from the Negative Zone, the insectoid conqueror possesses the Cosmic Control Rod, which grants him incalculable power and the ability to control others. He's the master of the Annihilation Wave and lives to destroy or control everything in his way.
Annihilus is an inhuman engine of destruction. He's almost destroyed the entire universe with the Annihilation Wave and there are no good deeds that can be attributed to him. He only exists to sate his ravenous hunger.
8 Shadow King Is A Telepathic Titan Of Evil
The Shadow King is one of the most powerful telepaths on Earth and one of the X-Men's greatest foes. A mutant of incalculable mental might, his entire existence has been about taking over the minds of everyone around him. His ultimate goal is to control every life on Earth, becoming an undisputed master of all he sees.
Even granted the clemency of Krakoa, where all mutants are welcome, Shadow King can't help but be who he is, attacking others mentally and playing his terrible games with whoever he can.
7 Nimrod Only Exists To Destroy Mutants
The Sentinels are one of the most dangerous threats to mutantkind and the most dangerous Sentinels are the Nimrod units. Nimrod's are the ultimate Sentinels, armed with the most powerful weapons and countermeasures. A Nimrod has only one purpose in all the world and that's to destroy mutants. While its creators think that's a good thing, it's terrible.
Nimrods know nothing but destruction. They exist to lead the Sentinels in the war against mutantkind and their entire existence is meant to commit genocide against an entire race. There is nothing noble or good about them, as they are little more than tools of death.
6 Ultron Is An Inhuman Killing Machine
Ultron was created by Hank Pym to help him in the lab but Pym grew frightened when he became self-aware. He tried to kill Ultron but the robot survived, vowing vengeance against his "father" and all of humanity. Ever since, Ultron has been trying to wipe out the human race. His entire existence has been about upgrading himself and exterminating all organic life.
Ultron knows no mercy or compassion, only the desire for the death of everything that is alive and organic. His hatred of Hank Pym has been projected onto every human on the planet and he is relentless in his quest to destroy all non-mechanical life.
5 Belasco Was The Master Of Limbo
Belasco is the ruler of Limbo, a hellish dimension home to demons and the damned. His kingdom is built on terror and his actions are those of a monstrous tyrant, one who wants nothing more than to hold his power and expand upon it. He kidnapped Illyana Rasputin when she was a child, a move that would prove to be his undoing.
Before Illyana defeated him and wrested power from him, Belasco was a true demonic monster. He ruled Limbo with an iron fist, using his army of demons to ensure his rule stayed intact, and underestimated the power of Illyana Rasputin, a costly mistake.
4 Onslaught Is Pure Evil
Onslaught came from the unholy union of Professor X and Magneto, as Magneto's evil infected Xavier when he mindwiped the Mutant Master of Magnetism. This created a terrible composite being, one who stayed hidden for a time before attacking the Marvel Universe, kidnapping Franklin Richards and X-Man, and unleashing a fleet of reprogrammed Sentinels on New York.
Onslaught would commit terrible deeds during his attacks and has reared his ugly head several times over the years. Unleashed by the Orchis Initiative on Krakoa, he almost eradicated the mutant race before being stopped not by battle but by the power of love.
3 Malekith's Warlike Inclinations Have Made Him A Force For Evil
The Nine Realms contain many dread beings and there are few foes as cunning or dangerous as Malekith. Malekith is the lord of the Dark Elves and has forged them into one of the biggest threats to Asgard. He's one of Thor's most dangerous foes and the amount of good things he's done can be counted on no fingers.
Malekith and the Dark Elves attack and attack until nothing of their foe is left standing. They destroy everything good in their way and take the spoils for them themselves. They take their cue from their leader, an irredeemable being if there ever was one.
2 Dormammu Is The Darkest Of Dark Lords
Dormammu is one of Doctor Strange's greatest foes and a constant threat to all of existence. As the ruler of the Dark Dimension, he desires nothing more than the conquest of everything that is. Dormammu is the type of being who even if all existence is threatened won't lift a finger to help, instead of waiting to destroy the weakened victor after the battle is over.
There is no good in Dormammu. He's the darkest of the dark, the master of a dimension of monsters. His power makes him a near unstoppable threat and there's nothing to him but the desire to destroy all in his way.
1 Red Skull Is A Nazi
Red Skull has made a life of committing atrocities. He killed his first human being as a child and his cruelty and evil as a youth shone through so much that Adolf Hitler personally chose him, taking the boy under his wing. Red Skull is a wholehearted believer in Nazi ideology and exists only to destroy equality and freedom.
He's an unrepentant racist and true fascist. He's never done anything good in his entire life and the things he considers good are the worst things imaginable. He's a devil-made flesh but worse since at least devils were once angels.
