Star Wars: 10 TV Characters Obi-Wan Would Be Friends With | CBR

While the universe is filled with an array of amazing characters, no one else in Star Wars is quite like Obi-Wan Kenobi. A general in the Clone Wars and a survivor of Order 66, the famous Jedi had a front-row seat for the fall of the Galactic Republic and the rise of the Empire, and yet he never stopped believing that a better tomorrow would come.

Best known for his masterful Force skills, his talents with a lightsaber, and his dry wit, Obi-Wan became a fan favorite thanks to the prequel films, and now that the character has his own live-action series coming to Disney+, the fanbase is almost certain to grow. Unfortunately, the chances of seeing Obi-Wan cross paths with some of TV's other great characters is pretty unlikely, but that doesn't mean fans can't imagine what it would be like.

10 Abed Never Let His Emotions Cloud His Judgment

The spiritual center of Community, Abed Nadir has an encyclopedic knowledge of pop culture and never lets emotions interfere with his decision-making process. This much-loved character wasn't just one of the funniest members of the Greendale Seven, he was also the only one who seemed to really see the good in each member of the group from day one.

It's hard to imagine that Obi-Wan wouldn't find himself in a friendship with Abed if the two ever met. Abed's endless questions about the Star Wars universe may get a little irksome after a while, but Obi-Wan's Jedi patience would be more than able to deal with it.

9 Kenneth Was Always Ready To Help

The always excited and joyful NBC page from 30 Rock, Kenneth Parcell sees his entire life's mission as being one of helping others. A man of faith, Kenneth is ready willing, and able to take on any task his friends and co-workers ask of him, no matter how difficult or disgusting.

Keneth's dedication to his work and his New York family is the kind of thing Obi-Wan looks for in others. The Jedi would know that when things got tough, Kenneth the Page would be there for him.

8 Dean Winchester Is A Lot Like An Old Friend

While Obi-Wan tended to be a rule follower, his Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn was more willing to be a little shady from time to time. Along with betting - and using his Force powers to change the outcome of a bet - Qui-Gon often disagreed with the Jedi High Council, and he wasn't afraid to say so.

That kind of attitude can be found in Dean Winchester, the more rough and tumble brother from Supernatural. Dean is also a bit of a gambler who doesn't always follow the rules, but like Qui-Gon, he's willing to put his life on the line for what he believes.

7 Josiah Bartlet Led With Faith And Judgement

Being a Jedi means a person has faith in something they can't see, in this case, that's the Force. Jedi's belief in the Force helps them make decisions, basing what they do on what the Jedi teachings tell them is right.

On The West Wing, Josiah Bartlet was a member of the Democratic Party and the President of the United States who relied on his religious beliefs to help him make tough decisions. Like many Jedi, sometimes President Bartlett went against what his beliefs said, but he always tried to do what he felt was right. Both Bartlett and Obi-Wan would share an understanding of balancing faith and power.

6 Kramer Lived In The Now

The next-door neighbor of Jerry Seinfeld on Seinfeld, Cosmo Kramer probably has more in common with Jar Jar Binks than he does with Obi-Wan, but the crazy-haired New Yorker does have something fans know Obi-Wan likes, that street kid attitude.

Obi-Wan has a tendency to befriend the stranger beings he comes across, including Dexter Jettster, who would fit right in at the diner from Seinfeld. While Obi-Wan and Kramer probably wouldn't be best friends, they would have a friendship that was built on mutual respect, as well as Obi-Wan wanting to see where Kramer's antics went.

5 Buffy Understands Being Alone

After the fall of the Galactic Republic and the issuing of Order 66, Obi-Wan made Tatooine his new home, living as a hermit and probably feeling very much alone; after all, he was the only Jedi around and was chosen for a special mission. Someone else who knows what it feels like to be singular and chosen is Buffy Summers.

The famous vampire slayer spent most of her seven seasons being the only Slayer in the world, and that kind of responsibility wore on her the same way watching over Luke clearly wore on Obi-Wan. Together, these two would find kindred spirits, the rare person who has an idea of what they have been through.

4 Leslie Knope Always Has A Plan

As a general for the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan stood out as a great strategist, even when he found himself in situations he hadn't planned on. Somehow, Obi-Wan always figured out a way to win the day, at least until the final days of the war.

Someone else who is great at planning is Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation. With binders full of ideas and a mind that is always racing, Leslie is just about ready for anything anyone throws at her, and that's a trait Obi-Wan would greatly respect.

3 Carla Espinosa Was A Patient Healer

It takes a lot of patience to be a nurse, and even more patience to be a nurse who is married to a Turk, who could always be found with his best pal JD on Scrubs. But somehow Carla managed to spend her day helping the sick and didn't really mind coming home to two adult men who acted like children all the time. Carla would get angry sometimes, but she always found a way to center herself, and the ability to keep her cool and not let her emotions overcome her are the kinds of traits that make a good Jedi. It's hard to imagine Obi-Wan wouldn't have the greatest respect for her.

2 Captain Sisko Understand The Cost Of War

Star Wars and Star Trek are often compared, but in truth, they are two vastly different concepts. Still, they do share some things besides just being sci-fi. While the Clone Wars is the war that Obi-Wan is forever connected to, Captain Benjamin Sisko from Deep Space Nine had his own war to win, the Dominion War.

Both men led the charge in their respective wars, and at times both men saw their mettle tested and their morals strained. Where Obi-Wan trusted in the prophecies of the Jedi High Council, Captain Sisko followed the teachings of the Bajoran Prophets, and in both cases, it cost them greatly.

1 Sam Beckett Made Right What Once Went Wrong

Forever traveling through time putting right what once went wrong, Quantum Leap's Dr. Sam Beckett has done a lot of good for humanity and not once has he expected anything in return. Both men gave up their lives to help others on their paths. For Obi-Wan, the sacrifice was just once, but for Sam, it is constant as he leaps from person to person making their futures brighter. That kind of selflessness is rare, and seeing if Obi-Wan ever found himself running into Sam, he wouldn't just have the utmost respect for him.
