The Bad Batch: 10 Easter Eggs You’ll Only Notice On A Rewatch

Now that some time has passed and fans have had a chance to scrub every second of the first season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, more and more special touches are coming to light. As always, the writers, directors, and animators of the Star Wars animated shows have found fun ways to keep the galaxy far far away connected through small but important connections.

But not every fan has the time to scan every frame of every episode of The Bad Batch to catch these easter eggs, of which there are dozens, if not hundreds, to find. Still, there are some that really stand out as the most interesting. Some of these may be a direct connection, while others are just a fun wink to the fans.

10 The Bad Batch Have 66 Victories

The number 66 holds a special significance in the Star Wars universe. It was Order 66, given by Palpatine, that led to the destruction of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire, which makes the number so special to the overall universe, that numerical value is also special to the Bad Batch for another reason.

As seen in the Bad Batch's living space in the first episode, the team has just returned to Kamino after eleven successful missions, which Wrecker starts to add to their counter. The counter that we see already shows fifty-five mission marks, which means that just before everything falls apart, the team completed 66 successful missions.

9 Omega And Wrecker Make A Mantell Mix Commercial

Not long after the Bad Batch starts working with Cid, making Ord Mantell their new home, Omega and Wrecker create a new tradition of buying some Mantell Mix to snack on after every mission. The duo clearly love the snack, a mix of different types of popcorn, making many a fan dream of trying the salty treat themselves.

Luckily, fans can get their hands on some Mantell Mix, or at least a version of it. Anyone who makes the journey to Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland can buy some Outpost Mix, which looks exactly like Mantell Mix, from Kat Saka's Food Kettle in the Black Spire Outpost.

8 Dr. Pershing's Look Is Older Than Many Expected

Fans of The Mandalorian quickly noticed that Dr. Pershing, the scientist who is interested in Grogu's blood, wears a uniform that had not been seen in any Star Wars story before, including a very recognizable new symbol on the arm.

While it seemed that this new scientist look may have come after the fall of the Empire, the season finale of The Bad Batch revealed that the cloning division Dr. Pershing belonged to is far older than anyone expected. It seems likely that fans will learn more about this cloning division in the next season of The Bad Batch, as well as in the third season of The Mandalorian.

7 Does Cid Have Jango's Guns?

The clones, including the members of the Bad Batch, all come from one person; Jango Fett. Sadly, for Jango, the Mandalorian bounty hunter ended up on the wrong side of Mace Windu's lightsaber and lost his head, but his very recognizable blaster pistols, the WESTAR-34s, can be seen in Cid's office, along with a number of other fun easter eggs, including a Mandalorian helmet and a helmet from the 327th Clone Trooper Legion, who are best known for killing Aayla Secura after Order 66 is given in Revenge of the Sith.

6 A Sullustan Has A Nice SoroSuub 3000 Model

Most of the ships that viewers have seen in Star Wars were either built for war or for shipping. But the SoroSuub 3000, first seen in The Clone Wars, is a luxury ship for the wealthier residents of the galaxy to travel around in. The most famous SoroSuub 3000 is likely the Lady Luck, which was owned by none other than Lando Calrissian.

In the fourth episode of the season, both a model and a poster of a SoroSuub 3000 can be seen in the office of the Sullustan working at the docking station on Pantora. Clearly, this is one Sullustan who has big dreams.

5 The Y-wing At Hera's Home Is Special For Rebels Fans

In the two-parter "Devil's Deal" and "Rescue on Ryloth" the Bad Batch find themselves on Ryloth where they come into contact with a very young Hera Syndulla from Star Wars: Rebels. For fans of Rebels, the Syndulla household had a very special Y-Wing all smashed up in the front yard. That Y-Wing is the ship that C1-10P was on when it crashed. C1-10P is better known as Chopper, the argumentative but lovable droid from Rebels that has been at Hera's side since she was a child.

4 Ralph McQuarrie's Original Stormtrooper Designs Show Up

The people behind Star Wars love to go back to the early days of George Lucas' creation to find fun things to add in, including a number of designer Ralph McQuarrie's original ideas for characters. On Rebels, the look of Zeb and the Lasat race was McQuarrie's original design for Chewbacca, and the droid called AP-5 was the first pass on what would become C-3PO.

Keeping that tradition alive, when the Empire begins to transition from clones to humans for their military, the new helmets for the TK soldiers are taken from McQuarrie's original design for the Stormtroopers in A New Hope.

3 A Loth-Cat Is A Nice Wink To Dave Filoni

In the first episode of The Bad Batch, viewers watched as Hunter, the leader of the team, allows a young Padawan to escape after Order 66 is given. That Padawan is Caleb Dume, who Rebels fans know better as Kanan Jarrus. But Kanan isn't the only connection to Rebels in the premiere episode.

As the Bad Batch prepares to leave their home on Kamino for the last time, Omega finds Wrecker's stuffed animal, which just so happens to be a Loth-cat. While it's unlikely that this cameo is anything more than a fun wink to the fans, it does continue the show's creator Dave Filoni's path of having a Loth-cat appear in all of his Star Wars work.

2 The Jedi: Fallen Order Connection

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a video game released in 2019 that is set between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. The game, which lets players control Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis, starts on the salvage planet Bracca, where Cal is hiding out after the events of Order 66 and the rise of the Empire.

Bracca ended up playing a major role in the first season of The Bad Batch - it is where Rex brings the team in order to remove their inhibitor chips, freeing them from any control the Empire may have had on them.

1 The Answer To Rogue One's War Mantle

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story answered the question of what it took for the Rebel Alliance to get its hands on the Death Star plans, and while it answered one question, the movie created a new query in the minds of many fans; what is War Mantle?

War Mantle is seen in a list of Imperial plans that Jyn Erso scrolls past in one scene, and the name quickly led to fans coming up with theories of what that plan could be. The answer finally came in the third episode of The Bad Batch when it is revealed that War Mantle is the name of the plan to switch from Clone Troopers to human Stormtroopers.
