Tiny Tina's Wonderlands' Latest Trailer Features, Knives, Axes and Giant Dancing Mushrooms

A new trailer for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has revealed the Borderlands spinoff game's first two character classes and a closer look at the shooter's tabletop RPG-inspired gameplay.

Gearbox Software released another trailer for the upcoming shooter, which is due to hit consoles and PC in early 2022. The video, which is the first in a series called "Welcome to Wonderlands," introduces players to two starting classes: the Stabbomancer and the Brr-Zerker. It continues on to highlight Wonderlands' various tabletop RPG influences, with its game elements ranging from spike traps, skeletons, dancing mushrooms and--of course--plenty of dragons.

"Welcome to Wonderlands #1" invites players to class up. Tiny Tina's latest campaign will utilize a "multiclass" upgrade system that will differ from Borderlands' previous customization mechanics. After choosing their starting class, players will be able to unlock a variety of upgrade paths and abilities, as opposed to the previous entries' class-specific progress trees.

Starting with the Stabbomancer, players who choose this class will gain abilities in the vein of the traditional rogue archetype, sticking to the shadows with stealth before pouncing on opponents with blades. Stabbomancers will also utilize a powerful area-of-effect spell called the Ghost Blade, which summons ethereal weapons to dole out damage to multiple foes.

Conversely, the Brr-Zerker class will favor a straightforward brawl, cleaving enemies into pieces with a two-handed great axe. These brutes will be able to leap toward their enemies and smash into them with a Feral Surge or use Dreadwind to perform a spinning attack while in the thick of the fray.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a direct sequel to the Borderlands 2 expansion Assault on Dragon Keep and is Gearbox's first major game in the series since Borderlands 3 in 2019. Wonderlands will be a complete, standalone title and, like its predecessors, can either be enjoyed alone or with up to three friends with drop-in/drop-out co-op multiplayer.

Wonderlands will once again see the notorious demolitionist Tiny Tina running players through a tabletop fantasy RPG in the vein of Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder. Players must embark on a journey across the realm to slay enemies, gather loot and take down the tyrannical Dragon Lord, all in a story and world created and manipulated by the fan-favorite Borderlands character. Ashly Burch will reprise her role as Tina, and the supporting voice cast will include Andy Samberg, Wanda Sykes and Will Arnett.

Developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will arrive on March 25, 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
