Heroes teaching other heroes is a venerable tradition. Marvel has always been known for its smart heroes, with a good portion of their Silver Age stars being scientists of some kind. They'd help each other and as younger heroes came up, these more intelligent elder statesmen would start to mentor them. Beyond these scientists, some of the most experienced heroes also took younger heroes under their wings, teaching them the ropes.
The Marvel Universe is full of extremely smart heroes, some who are book smart and some who are smart in other ways, that have mentored others. Not all of them are created equal, as some are smarter than others.
10 Captain America Is An Expert Tactician
Captain America isn't going to invent a space-time portal. He is going to inspire those under him in battle and figure out who to defeat just about any foe they're up against. Cap isn't book smart but he is a brilliant tactician and understands battlefield management. His knowledge of small unit tactics has led groups of heroes in battle to wins multiple times.
Cap has trained multiple heroes over the years. He doesn't have any doctorates or anything but he should have one in combat. His knowledge of fighting rivals the scientific knowledge of some of his classically intelligent teammates and he's smarter than he gets credit for.
9 Wolverine Is Quite Smart
Wolverine has proven to be one of Marvel's greatest heroes but most people just think of him as someone who slashes first and asks questions never. He's not known as a brainy person and this is correct to an extent. He is much smarter than he gets credit for, though. He knows multiple languages, is an expert in multiple unarmed combat doctrines and with various weapons and has forgotten more secrets than most people know.
He's a good tactician and team leader and has taught at the Xavier Institute for years, even acting as headmaster for a time. He's mentored multiple heroes over the years and they've all turned out quite well.

He's an expert pilot and combatant and has acted as mentor for multiple generations of mutants.
Cyclops got a good education from the Xavier Institute and put it to work. Even though Utopia had a small population base, the fact that Cyclops was able to keep it going is quite impressive and proves just how smart he really is.
7 Magneto's Years Of Experience Have Made Him Quite Intelligent
Magneto is one of the most powerful beings on the planet and he's also pretty smart. He's been alive for a very long time, traveling the world, and learned many things. He understands the physics of magnetism in a way that only someone could who has a practical appearance with it and has proven to be a great trainer of mutants.
Magneto's age and the sheer amount of things he's experienced shows just how smart he really is. He's been a teacher and a world leader, having run the country of Genosha before its destruction. Plus, back in the Silver Age, he used to create all kinds of death traps and that takes smarts.
6 Emma Frost Has A Great Education And Built A Financial Empire From Scratch
Emma Frost was born into a wealthy family but struck out on her own. Using all of the skills at her disposal, she became a member of the Hellfire Club's Inner Circle and built a financial empire divorced from her family's fortune, no easy task. She began teaching her own class of mutants known as the Hellions and was the headmistress of the Massachusetts Academy.
As smart as Cyclops was, she was the brains behind his time as sole headmaster of the Xavier Institute and leader of Utopia, using her years of experience running businesses and schools. She's also a great teacher who cares about her students more than one would imagine from her frosty exterior.
5 Spider-Man Has Grown Into A Great Mentor Over The Years
Spider-Man has been through a lot of changes over the years but one of the things that haven't changed is how smart he is. He created the formula for web fluid and shooters as a fifteen-year-old with access to very few specialized chemicals or equipment. His spider-tracers are another amazing invention, as they are somehow linked to his spider-sense and built entirely by him.
Spider-Man has always been undeniably smart but for years, but he was kind of a lone wolf. That's one of his biggest changes, as he's taken on more responsibility mentoring the younger spider-powered heroes. He's proven just as good at being a mentor as he has at everything else.
4 Doctor Strange Is A Neurosurgeon And Master Of Magic
Doctor Strange has always been a smart cookie. As one of the foremost neurosurgeons on the planet, he studied for years in one of the most difficult surgical fields. He brought of all that diligence to the study of the mystic arts, quickly becoming the Ancient One's greatest student and more than earning his title of Sorcerer Supreme.
Strange mostly stayed to himself for years but has tutored Scarlet Witch and Magik in the mystical arts. He's even opened up his own magic academy, in order to teach the most powerful young sorcerers of the next generation what they need to know to survive.

2 Iron Man Is One Of The World's Greatest Engineers
Tony Stark is an engineering prodigy. He's created multiple Iron Man armors and is constantly tinkering with their designs. While he's not exactly the best businessman, having lost his company and fortune many times, and completely missed the Skrull takeover of SHIELD while he was director, he's still brilliant in his field.
He's also done a great job mentoring others over the years, from James Rhodes to Spider-Man. While he's definitely smarter than he is a good mentor, his sheer intelligence makes him one of the smartest mentors around.
1 Reed Richards Is One Of The Smartest People On The Planet
Reed Richards makes most other Marvel geniuses look kind of slow. He's created amazing things over the years, from unstable molecules to portals to other dimensions. He's constantly working in his lab and while this has made his family suffer in the past, he's done a great job of making up for it over the years, helping teach his daughter Valeria and starting the Future Foundation.
The Future Foundation is the greatest example of Richards as a mentor, as he taught some of the most intelligent children around all they'd need to know. This is a huge difference from the Reed of earlier years, as he never cared very much for others for a long time.
