The mysterious murder of Doctor Strange has left the Earth exposed to all sorts of mysterious and magical threats, with new powers making their move towards Earth and all the potential victims on across the world. But not all of them are evil, as it turns out the child of a powerful Marvel force might actually be on the side of the angels.

In Death Of Doctor Strange: The Avengers (by Alex Paknadel, Ryan Bodenheim, Rachelle Rosenberg, and VC's Cory Petit), the Earth's Mightiest Heroes find themselves facing off with a powerful new being with a surprisingly deep connection to one of Marvel's most destructive deities.

In the absence of Doctor Strange to contend with mystical threats to the world, heroes like the Avengers have been called upon to deal with attacks on mystical elements like the Nexus of All Realities. The Avengers are alerted when a Juggernaut-like construct walks out of the Nexus and attacks a group that had been preparing to deliver a nuclear bomb into the portal. It isn't long until the construct -- which seems to multiple -- begins to wreak havoc in Miami. Captain America, Captain Marvel, and Thor rush into battle while Iron Man contends with the nuke. Curious though, he ventures through the portal and ends up in Cyttorak's dimension, known as the Crimson Cosmos.

Iron Man is shocked to find naught but death and decay in the realm, save for a woman dying from serious wounds. Using a psionic beacon, Iron Man is shown the truth of what happened on this realm -- and about the person who just made the trip back to Earth. It turns out that at some point in time, Cyttorak had a child with a woman in his realm. Due to her connection to her father, she gained command of the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak -- one of Doctor Strange's signature binding spells. By binding the spell on top of itself, she gained the ability to functionally make duplicates of the Juggernaut and control them. She used this power against the Three Mothers but failed to stop them.

As Cyttorak turned his back on his realm and everything in the Crimson Cosmos was killed, only the girl and her mother lasted -- who ensured that her daughter would escape through the Nexus and into Earth-616, where she might have a chance. Racing back to Earth after learning the truth, Iron Man is barely able to stop a blow from Thor connecting with the young girl, severely injuring himself in the process. But he's able to get out of the suit and convince the young girl to reveal herself to the Avengers -- who let her finish building a new psionic spire so she can better warn the rest of the world of the threats that are coming for them all.

It's a haunting and tragic fate for the girl's loved ones, and a good indicator of the fate that could be awaiting the Earth if the Three Mothers and their nefarious intentions spread across the planet. But there's a silver lining to be found with the possibility that this young daughter of Cyttorak could become a secret weapon against the mystical forces. It's another young powerhouse the Avengers have ended up watching over, giving the young Starbrand a potential new friend. The future cosmic forces of the Marvel Universe might be getting genuine guidance from the Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and it could give them a mystical edge in the undoubtedly dark battles to come.
