Tom Holland Taught His Brother How Hard It Is to Be Spider-Man

During his time filming the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, star Tom Holland took the opportunity to teach his younger brother just how hard it is to be Spider-Man.

Holland appeared on The Graham Norton Show alongside his No Way Home co-star, Zendaya, to discuss the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of Spider-Man. While Peter Parker's dangerous acts of heroism in the movies are something to behold, there is no doubt that they require some taxing stunt work while filming. During the interview, Holland revealed that he wanted to teach his younger brother, Harry, just how challenging it was with some personal, hands-on experience.

Holland jumped at the opportunity to gain his brother some humbling stunt work in the film after Harry told him to just be grateful for the role of Spider-Man. Holland revealed that the comment came after he complained to his brother about a particularly long and uncomfortable shoot for a part of Peter's fight with Doc Ock. He said, "I was upside-down all day for 11 hours, and like, honestly, I really have nothing to complain about, you know. Being Spider-Man has changed my life, but I am absolutely going to complain about this day. It was brutal."

After Harry supposedly told his older brother to "suck it up," an offer came along for the actor to give Harry a role in the film. The basic premise for the scene required a young burglar who would be caught by Spider-Man, and after the director asked Holland if his younger brother would be interested, Holland signed him up. Of course, there was an ulterior motive at work, as Holland approached the stunt coordinator and begged, "Please, whatever you do with the stunt, make it so he's upside-down." Holland applauded Harry's hard work, and it seemingly had the desired effect that the actor wanted, as his younger brother later said to him, "Mate, you can complain as much as you want. That was brutal."

Unfortunately for Harry, the stunt work was perhaps not the most brutal part of the whole experience. Holland revealed that after recently seeing the film, he realized Harry's scene hadn't made the final cut. Whether Harry gets another chance to be in a Spider-Man film alongside his older brother remains to be seen. Sony's Amy Pascal recently spoke on the possibility of future Spider-Man films, "This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel - [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie."

Spider-Man: No Way Home swings into theaters Dec. 17.
