Bob's Burgers' Gingerbread House Building Competition Ended in a Shootout

The random adventures of Bob Belcher on Bob's Burgers never cease to entertain. While most of the situations he finds himself in are innocuous, some of them end up life threatening, and it isn't a coincidence that a majority of those situations involve his landlord, Calvin Fischoeder. Only Mr. Fischoeder would turn a perfectly innocent gingerbread house competition with friends into a life or death shootout in Season 7, Episode 7, "The Last Gingerbread House on the Left."

Bob's life is filled with an incredible variety of trials and tribulations, from trying to keep his burger joint in business to his rivalry with Jimmy Pesto; however, the biggest obstacle in Bob's life is his landlord, Calvin Fischoeder. As the wealthiest man in town, Mr. Fischoeder is the landlord to a vast majority of the businesses. That includes Pesto's restaurant and It's Your Funeral Home & Crematorium. In addition to that, Mr. Fischoeder also owns other key properties, like Wonder Wharf.

The problem for Bob is that Mr. Fischoeder has a lot of money and time on his hands, which he often uses to torment the burger man with his eccentricities. That includes roping Bob into an annual Christmas tradition at his house. Every year, Mr. Fischoeder gets together with his rich friends, and they build gingerbread houses. The loser has to wear a bedpan on his head, and Mr. Fischoeder has spent a lot of time with that bedpan.

Tired of losing every year, he brought Bob in to throw the competition and take the loss. It was the only way he wouldn't have to wear a bedpan on his head yet again, but Mr. Fischoeder's constant barbs combined with Bob wanting to win the prize -- a one-on-one session with a newborn polar bear -- puts the cook in the victory mindset, especially since the bear visit seems like the perfect Christmas present for his kids.

What Bob realizes too late is that he's the only one who didn't bring a gun to a gingerbread house competition. Even Felix Fischoeder has a gun, and he isn't allowed to participate in the competition. As the event comes to a close, Mr. Fischoeder and his friends all pull guns, pointing them at each other's gingerbread houses. Tensions boil over, and the rich contestants shoot each other's gingerbread houses into oblivion.

Bob wins by default as his house is the least shot up. In a move of pure class, and not wanting to upset his gun toting landlord, Bob shares the prize with the wealthy losers. This means the Belchers, Mr. Fischoeder and his friends all get to spend time with the adorable, newborn polar bear. If there is a Christmas lesson in all of this, it is probably that no one should completely trust Mr. Fischoeder.
