Perhaps one of the most likeable qualities of Tanjiro is how he is the very relatable shonen protagonist of Demon Slayer. It’s no secret that in most shonen shows, the hero powers up one fight after the other, even winning seemingly impossible battles.

10 SAVED THE DAY: Saved A Final Selection Contestant From The Hand Demon
One of the most defining qualities of Tanjiro is how he is already ready to help people, regardless of how things may turn out for him. This is why during the Final Selection when he heard a young boy cry, he immediately ran towards him.
Without any fear in his heart, Tanjiro immediately stood up to the Hand Demon. He was ready to fight him just so that the boy could live to see another day.
9 NEEDED SAVING: When Nezuko Fought With Giyu For Tanjiro
When Giyu realized convincing Tanjiro to let go of his demon sister was not working, he immediately hit him. Tanjiro fainted and Nezuko looked at this as a sign of her brother being hurt. She immediately lunged at Giyu, ready to attack him.
The fight only lasted for a few seconds, since Giyu decided to let both of them live. He landed a hand chop on Nezuko’s neck, and she fainted as well.
8 SAVED THE DAY: Reunited A Missing Boy With His Siblings
In episode 11, Tanjiro comes across a brother-sister duo that was scared and crying. He learned that their older brother had been taken away by a demon that lived inside the house.
Of course, Tanjiro did not hesitate to help those children by heading inside the house immediately. There he came across the Drum Demon, but despite the difficulties he faced, he eventually managed to defeat the demon.
7 NEEDED SAVING: Nezuko Stopped Him From Falling To His Death
After severing the Temple Demon’s head, Tanjiro aimed at stopping the demon’s body from running away. The two of them, along with Nezuko, were in a forest where visibility wasn’t good.
When Tanjiro lunged at the demon and finally caught his body, he didn’t realize there was a deep valley ahead. His momentum pushed both of them forward, but lucky for Tanjiro, Nezuko was quick on her feet and pulled him up immediately.
6 SAVED THE DAY: Helped Inosuke With The Father Spider Demon
The demon family was perhaps the most challenging for Tanjiro, Nezuko, Inosuke, and Zenitsu to fight. Each fought with separate members of the family, and even then, it was tough to win against them.
Inosuke had underestimated the strength and stamina of the Father Spider Demon that he had been chasing. Tanjiro saw this and immediately cut the trunk of a large tree. It fell on top of the demon, giving Inosuke the hand that he needed.
5 NEEDED SAVING: When Nezuko Helped Him Fight The Swamp Demon
To Tanjiro’s shock, the Swamp Demon could perform blood demon art. This allowed him to split into three different entities. Outnumbered, Tanjiro immediately called out to Nezuko for help.
To everybody’s surprise, she was able to hold up well against such a strong demon. In fact, her skills surprised the demon himself. On the other hand, Tanjiro followed the other two entities underground and killed them there.
4 SAVED THE DAY: Tripped Kanao To Give Nezuko A Lead
Kanao was running after Nezuko with just one aim in mind – to kill the demon. Tanjiro knew this, and he also knew there was no way he could stand on his own against a Hashira.
So he did what he could do best at the moment. He clutched her cloak and pulled her back. She tripped and fell hard. This gave Nezuko enough time to run away and maintain a safe distance from her.
3 NEEDED SAVING: By Tamayo Who Protected Him From Possible Police Assault
As soon as Muzan turned an innocent bystander into a demon, Tanjiro rushed toward him to control him and save the people around him. Unfortunately, the police appeared at the same time, and they wouldn’t listen to Tanjiro.
It was then that Tamayo used her spell of suggestion to help Tanjiro out of a very sticky situation. If she hadn’t intervened, Tanjiro could have very easily been roughed up and even locked up.
2 SAVED THE DAY: He Saved Murata From His Demon-Controlled Colleagues
On Natagumo Mountain, Tanjiro was the first person to realize the other demon slayers were being controlled by threads of a demon. He conveyed the same to Inosuke and Murata.
Then he told Murata that he and Inosuke would take care of his colleagues (without harming them), and told him to escape. Later on, he was captured by the Sister Spider Demon and then was eventually freed by Shinobu.
1 NEEDED SAVING: When Nezuko Acted As His Shield
Tanjiro knew he was outclassed when he was fighting Rui, but that did not stop him from taking the demon head-on. However, he had not anticipated how strong he would be.
As soon as Rui threw out his steel threads to cut Tanjiro’s body into several pieces, Nezuko intervened. She was severely injured but thanks to her decisive decision, her brother was saved.
