In the last few months, HBO Max has acquired plenty of animation content from such sources as Cartoon Network and Studio Ghibli. The streamer has now launched a dedicated animation hub for curated content.
HBO Max announced the newly-launched animation hub on Twitter. "HBOMax launches animation page featuring curated collections of animated content from the platform’s catalog," the tweet from @InsideHBOMax read. "Animation hubs see up to 85% lift in impressions since September."
The official page for HBO Max's animation hub has sections for adult animation, old school cartoons, international films and animation dedicated to teens and young adults. There are collections dedicated to Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Studio Ghibli, Crunchyroll and Looney Tunes.
Just before the animation hub was launched, the streamer had acquired Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond in January. There are current rumors that HBO Max is developing a sequel series to Batman: The Animated Series. The two DCAU series joined other DC animated series such as Young Justice and Harley Quinn. HBO Max plans to release more original DC content geared towards international markets in the second half of 2021.
HBO Max's animation hub currently features works from Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Studio Ghibli and Crunchyroll. Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond are also currently available to watch on HBO Max.
