When discussing the new WandaVision Disney+ series, Paul Bettany talked about how the show is a mashup of two storylines. One is the Scarlet Witch storyline "House of M", and the second is the 2015 Vision series by Tom King and Mike Del Mundo.
That Vision series brought back two characters from the Vision family in the Grim Reaper and Victor Mancha. The Grim Reaper was Eric Williams, the brother of Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man. Ultron used Simon's brainwaves to create Vision, making Wonder Man a brother-like figure for Vision. Victor was another brother-type figure for Vision, and both characters ended up dead by the end.
Ultron created Vision using the body of a divergent Human Torch created by Immortus using Simon Williams' brainwaves. However, while he planned to use Vision to defeat The Avengers, the synthezoid betrayed his creator and became a hero, saving the world many times. Knowing he failed in this first effort, Ultron decided to try again. After his head was discovered by a small-time criminal named Marianella Mancha, she took it home with her and helped rebuild the villain. As a reward, Ultron created a child for her in Victor Mancha. He programmed a deep love of superheroes into the child, along with false memories. The plan was for Victor to head to New York City to meet the Avengers and become a sleeper agent.
However, those plans were changed when a time traveler arrived from the future with news that Victor would become the villain known as Victorious, who destroyed his Earth (Earth-5421). As a result, the Runaways confronted Victor to try to stop him from turning evil. This led to the return of Ultron, who killed Victor's mother and took control of him However, much like Vision before him, Victor betrayed Ultron, and became a member of the group. While with the Runaways, Victor created his first real relationships, including a connection with Gertrude Torkes, who ironically was the hero from the future that returned to warn the Runaways about him. This put him at odds with Chase Stein, who liked Gertrude. After Gertrude's death, it almost destroyed Chase and left Victor shattered as well. Over time, Victor moved on and eventually joined Avengers A.I. at the behest of his brother, the Vision.
Sadly, while Victor grew close with Vision, it was this relationship that destroyed him. In the 2015 Vision series, Agatha Harkness revealed to the Avengers that she saw into the future and realized Vision would one day destroy the world to protect his family. This was the family Vision created himself, his wife Virginia, and his children, Vin and Viv. In a questionable decision, the Avengers sent Victor to visit his family as a spy. While Victor did everything he could to keep from turning to his evil side, as his alternate world version did, he was now betraying the only family he had.
Things were already going wrong for Vision's family as his wife killed the Grim Reaper and then inadvertently caused the death of a high school friend of Viv's. Vin walked in and caught Victor reporting to the Avengers. Victor tried to stop Vin from telling anyone, but an electro-magnetic offensive move by Victor destroyed Vin and caused a blast that burned down a house in the neighborhood, killing the couple who lived there.
Victor was arrested for this, and it also led to his death. Vision set out to kill Victor, proving that the moment Agatha saw in the future was caused by the murder of Victor, meaning her interference by calling in the Avengers was what set up the entire tragedy. Vision defeated the team, but Virginia showed up and stopped him from making a mistake. Virginia killed Victor, and he said he would never have become Victorious before he died. As with most Marvel characters, Victor didn't remain dead. In Runaways Vol. 5 by Rainbow Rowell and Kris Anka, Tony Stark sent Victor's head to Chase. The former rival brought Victor back to life, and with Gert also back from the dead, the Runaways were back together again.
