WATCH: Batwoman's Victor Zsasz Shows Off His Scars | CBR

With classic Batman villain Victor Zsasz making his Arrowverse debut in "Bat Girl Magic!" -- tonight's episode of Batwoman on The CW -- a behind-the-scenes video sees actor Alex Morf showing off the prosthetic scars covering his body.

The video was shared to social media today by Batwoman lead Javicia Leslie -- who plays Ryan Wilder, the new Batwoman -- ahead of the episode's premiere. In it, Morf -- who plays Zsasz -- opens his shirt to reveal the great many scars on his torso, explaining that they also cover his arms, back and legs.

Created by Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle, the character of Victor Zsasz first appeared in 1992's Batman: Shadow of the Bat #1. A deranged serial killer, Zsasz carves tally marks into his body to represent his many victims. The character has previously been played in live-action by Tim Booth in Batman Begins, Anthony Carrigan on Gotham and, most recently, Chris Messina in Birds of Prey. Coincidentally, Morf appeared on Gotham as well, playing the character Sykes. He also appeared in Season 1 of Marvel's Daredevil as John Healy.

In a recent interview with CBR, Morf described the extensive process of getting Zsasz's scars applied for his Batwoman role. "I wish I could remember the number of hours! I think that I was in the chair for about 10 hours or something like that," he said. "It was a lot of time! Luckily, there was one day when we had to do all of them, but definitely the most time I've ever spent in a chair. I think five just amazing artists, putting these scars on me.

"It's an amazing thing, to get to go into a character for that long, because you're sort of just sitting there with your thoughts and, half the time, looking into a mirror," Morf continued. "You get to figure out who this guy is. That's where I did get to do a lot of time ruminating on like, 'Oh, what was that big scar about? What's the story there?' and making up some stories in my head and then also, 'What's the reason I'm doing this?' That's the fun of it."

Batwoman stars Javicia Leslie, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Camrus Johnson, Dougray Scott and Nicole Kang. New episodes air Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
