Bob's Burgers: Mr. Fischoeder Is the Most Eccentric Landlord

There are a lot of interesting, odd characters on Bob's Burgers. This includes the Belcher family, who are some of the strangest people in whatever town they live in, but no one in their community even comes close to the absurdity of Calvin Fischoeder, presumably the richest man in town and easily the most unstable.

Very little has been discussed about Mr. Fischoeder's past. All that's known about his family history is that he has a less successful, almost equally strange brother, Felix. Beyond that, Mr. Fischoeder is mainly known as the landlord for the vast majority of businesses in town, as well as the owner of Wonder Wharf. It should go without saying that he also owns the building the Belchers and their burger joint call home.

When fan's first get to know Mr. Fischoeder, it was simply as Bob's landlord, but his eccentric nature was evident before the man opened his mouth. He's always dressed in a completely white suit with an eyepatch, and it's never explained where any of these personal style quirks come from. In fact, it's never explained why he has an eyepatch, further building up the air of mystery around Fischoeder.

Taking his strange personal affectations a step further, Mr. Fischoeder literally drives everywhere in a golf cart. Being that he is incredibly wealthy, it's a bit of a surprise he isn't seen driving around in more expensive vehicles. However, one of the few times he was spotted behind the wheel of something else, he was driving a van to help Felix retrieve a wolf from a park under the cover of night. Mr. Fischoeder also once drove a boat and was forced to save the stranded Belchers, but he didn't really want to.

If that's not enough, Mr. Fischoeder spent the better part of the week leading up to Halloween cruising around town on his golf cart and stealing hundreds of Jack-o'-lanterns. Calvin and Felix also have an annual game of hide and seek that encompasses the entire town and lasts days. Felix has never won, though the Belcher kids tried to help one year by hiding him in their walk in freezer, which didn't work.

One of the wilder incidents saw Mr. Fischoeder drag Bob into an annual gingerbread house building competition with his rich friends. It ended with a gunfight that saw every single house demolished by bullets, and Bob won because his was left the most intact.

Fischoeder is also not Bob's friend -- he's his landlord, which makes this relationship all the more eccentric and strange. The only upside in this relationship is the fact that Mr. Fischoeder likes Bob more than most of his tenants, especially Jimmy Pesto.

It's honestly hard to imagine Bob's Burgers without Calvin Fischoeder. This is a pretty random show, but he adds a unique element of absurdity to the series that no one else does. His extreme wealth allows him to do almost anything he can imagine, and his imagination tends to run wild. Fortunately for Bob, he and Mr. Fischoeder are on the same side, unless the rent is due.

Created by Loren Bouchard, Bob's Burgers stars H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman and Kristen Schaal. New episodes air Sundays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
