Disney Villainous Game Expansion Adds Three Classic Big Bads

Boardgame and puzzle maker Ravensburger announced its next expandalone game will be titled Disney Villainous: Despicable Plots.

Ravensburger confirmed the game will contain three classic Disney villains -- Gaston from Beauty and the Beast, Lady Tremaine from Cinderella and The Horned King from The Black CauldronDespicable Plots created its name from an iconic line in Beauty and the Beast when Monsieur D'Arque tells Gaston that his plot to lock Belle's father Maurice away so that he can marry Belle is "despicable." Players must outwit the villainous objectives of others.

Specifically, Gaston must remove obstacles from his realm to prove to Belle that he's the perfect man whereas Lady Tremaine plots to marry one of her stepdaughters to The Prince. Meanwhile, The Horned King aims to take over the world by filling his realm with Cauldron Born after taking possession of The Black Cauldron.

Players are encouraged to use henchmen and items from their respective villain's deck in order to help them along the way. Fellow players can make their opponents' pathways to victory more difficult by playing heroes, interfering with players' evil plans.

Released in 2018, Disney Villainous: The Worst Takes It All game was praised for its play mechanics and won the Toy Association's 2019 "Toy of the Year" Award. That game featured Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty), Captain Hook (Peter Pan), Jafar (Aladdin), Ursula (The Little Mermaid), Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland) and Prince John (Robin Hood).
