Soul Wins Golden Globe for Best Animated Film | CBR

Pixar's Soul won the Golden Globe for Best Animated Film in 2020.

Soul, a jazz-focused film centered on a middle school music teacher named Joe (Jamie Foxx), beat out fellow nominees The Croods: A New AgeOnwardOver the Moon and Wolfwalkers, at the 78th Golden Globes Awards, as reported by Variety. Disney congratulated the cast and crew of the film after the announcement on Twitter.

"Congratulations to the cast and crew of #PixarSoul for their #GoldenGlobes win for Best Animated Feature!" Disney+'s Twitter wrote.

Soul tells the story of Joe Gardner, a middle school band teacher and aspiring jazz musician seeking to reunite his soul and body after they are accidentally separated. Music from the film was inspired by a middle school jazz band out of Oakland, California.

Directed by Pete Docter and Kemp Powers, Soul stars Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Questlove, Phylicia Rashad, Daveed Diggs and Angela Bassett. The film is currently available on Disney+.
