X-Men: Marvel Teases an 'Exciting New Era' for Storm in May | CBR

One of the X-Men's most popular characters will see an "exciting new horizon" when Marauders #20 goes on sale in May.

The cover by Russell Dauterman features Storm standing on the beaches of Krakoa, staring out into the distance. In the sky, there is an image of Storm in her "punk rock" outfit complete with black leather vest and mohawk. Standing next to her are Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler, with Kitty wearing her blue Excalibur outfit. "The gala approaches and the winds of change are picking up across Krakoa," Marauders writer Gerry Duggan teased in a cryptic statement.

X-Men group editor Jordan D. White previously discussed Storm's role in the X-Men line of books, teasing a larger role for the weather-controlling mutant in 2021. Marauders #20 more or less confirms Jordan's statement, and given that Storm has a large role in Krakoa's affairs as a member of the Quiet Council, her decisions could potentially upheave the X-Men's lives.

Marvel previously released the covers for X-Men #20 and X-Factor #9, which features the return of the Nimrod Sentinel and mutant rockstars Lila Cheney and Dazzler respectively. The X-Men will also unveil a new roster of mutants at the "Hellfire Gala" in June, led by Cyclops.

Written by Gerry Duggan and illustrated by Stefano Caselli, Marauders #20 goes on sale May 5 from Marvel.
