Zack Snyder Celebrates the Justice League in 'Mother Box Origins'

A new CG-animated sequence put the spotlight on the heroes of Zack Snyder's Justice League.

"The Mother Box Origins" video is scored to "Time" by Tom Waits, featuring the three Mother Boxes shifting. As the boxes change, a member of the Justice League is shown alongside visual elements including Cyborg's glowing eye and The Flash's lightning, as seen on IGN's Twitter.

"There are a million Easter eggs in it," Snyder stated about the sequence. "It's important for everyone to kind of take it apart and analyze it and say, like, 'Oh look I see this and I see that,' and then we can talk about it more often." Some Easter eggs shown include Joe Chill's gun and a broken pearl necklace within Batman's image, which serves as a callback to when the Dark Knight lost his parents. Superman's image also features a rippling hole in its chest, reminding viewers of his death at the end of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

In the theatrical cut of Justice League, a flashback showed an alliance consisting of multiple races scattering three Mother Boxes across Earth. Then, Steppenwolf arrives on Earth seeking the Boxes, which leads to the formation of the Justice League.

Zack Snyder's Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ray Porter as Darkseid, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K.
