Darth Vader is widely considered the most fearsome and powerful Force user in the galaxy, able to best almost any opponent unfortunate enough to cross his path. Considering Anakin Skywalker lived half his life as Darth Vader, it's no surprise that the Sith Lord has come across many formidable Jedi.
After fully embracing the Dark Side of the force, Anakin became even stronger as Darth Vader, determined to bring about the end of the Jedi. However, that is not to say that the Jedi didn't put up a good fight, as many decided to take a stand rather than submit to his will. Those who fought Darth Vader, regardless of their obscurity, deserve an everlasting place in the history of the Jedi.
10 Ferren Barr During the Attack on Mon Cala
Ferren Barr, an Iktotchi Jedi during the Clone Wars, was notably more malicious than some other Jedi, and perhaps understandably so. After surviving Order 66, Ferren Barr went into exile, where he planned to confront the Galatic Empire.
As an advisor to the King of Mon Cala, Barr sabotaged Emperial plans, which lead to a deadly confrontation with the most terrifying Sith Lord in the galaxy, Darth Vader. Though he put up a valiant fight against Vader, he ultimately fell at the hands of the Sith.
9 An'ya Kuro, The Dark Woman
During the Clone Wars, a powerful Jedi, An'ya Kuro, became a master of the Force, eventually becoming the Dark Woman. In her role, Kuro was tasked with training other force-sensitive individuals. However, after failing to bring her pupil Aurra Sing to the light side, Kuro went into exile on Cophrigin V.
After going into hiding during the Great Jedi Purge, Kuro is discovered by Darth Vader, who strikes the Dark Woman down with his lightsaber. Even in death, her work as a Jedi was not done. Her force spirit tried to convince Vader to once again become Anakin Skywalker, which only further enraged the Sith Lord.
8 Galen Marek, Vader's Apprentice Who Left To Join The Rebellion
Star Wars: Force Unleashed introduced fans to a powerful new force user, Galen Marek in 2008. Darth Vader, who was responsible for killing Galen's father, detected an incredible force-sensitivity in Galen, convincing Vader to take on the child as his secret apprentice.
Having been raised by a Sith, Galen is enveloped in the dark side of the force for most of his life. However, after Vader leaves him for dead on Corellia, Galen decides to redeem himself and join the rebellion. His actions eventually lead to a duel with Vader, where he ultimately bests the Sith Lord.
7 Ahsoka Tano, His Former Padwan
Ahsoka Tano, a fan-favorite character and remarkable Jedi, was once Anakin Skywalker's Padwan. After Anakin is turned to the dark side, he reemerged as Darth Vader, leading to an inevitable confrontation with his former apprentice.
In Star Wars: Rebels, Ahsoka battles Vader on Malachor-V in an epic lightsaber duel. Impressively, Ahsoka is able to hold her own against Vader, even damaging his helmet. Because of this, part of his face is exposed, revealing a fleeting glimpse of his remaining humanity.
6 Cere Junda During The Rise of The Empire
Cere Junda, who was first introduced in Jedi Fallen Order, was a powerful Jedi Knight who, like many others, was forced into exile as a result of Order 66. Like Kuro, Cere became tormented by her inability to save her Padwan, Trilla Suduri, from the dark side's influences.
Though she had severed her connection with the force, her abilities reemerge during a confrontation with Darth Vader. To protect Cal Kestis from the evil Sith Lord during their battle, Cere creates a powerful force shield that effectively stops Vader's lightsaber in its tracks.
5 Eeth Koth, A Former Ally During the Clone Wars
Like Ahsoka, Eeth Koth, an Iridonian Jedi, was once an ally of Anakin Skywalker before the latter became the Sith Lord, Vader. Anakin was even responsible for his rescue on Saleucami after Koth's capture by General Grievous during the Clone Wars.
Tragically, Koth became one of the many victims of Vader's mission to expunge the Jedi. After being forced into exile, Koth is eventually discovered by Vader, who arrives to steal Koth's only child. During their lengthy lightsaber duel, Vader ruthlessly stabs Koth in the back, after the Iridonian Jedi realizes his child has been captured.
4 Ezra Bridger on Lothal in Star Wars: Rebels
Ezra Bridger, the iconic Jedi Padwan from Star Wars: Rebels, actually dueled Vader on two separate occasions. When Ezra first came face to face with Vader, he had the help of his master, Kanan, yet their combined strength was still not enough to match the Sith Lord's power.
Unfortunately for Ezra, his second confrontation with Vader was no more successful than his previous duel. Not only that, but during the battle, his lightsaber is destroyed, forcing Ezra to rebuild a new one from scratch. Thankfully, Ezra is saved by Ahsoka moments before Vader nearly kills the young Padwan.
3 Cal Kestis In Jedi Fallen Order
Cal Kestis, another force user introduced in Jedi Fallen Order, was a formidable Jedi who took a stand against Vader on Nur. In the game, Cal faces the Sith Lord in the Fortress Inquisitorius while attempting to retrieve a Jedi Holocron that holds the location of all the force-sensitive children in the galaxy.
This confrontation demonstrated Vader's remarkable power, as he is able to combat two competent force users with relative ease. Cal is completely outmatched, forcing him to devise an escape rather than continuing to duel Vader.
2 Celeste Morne, A Jedi From Long Ago
Celeste Morne was actually a Jedi from 3936 BBY, almost four thousand years before Darth Vader's time. After being frozen in stasis for four millennia, Morne was awoken by none other than the evil Sith Lord himself.
Realizing the overwhelming threat the Sith now posed in the galaxy, Morne immediately engages Vader in a lightsaber duel. Though she is initially overpowered, she uses her Muur Talisman to transform the crew around Vader into rakghouls, forcing the Sith Lord to retreat.
1 Kirak Infil'a, The Secluded Pacifist
Kirak Infil'a was a Jedi Master and part of the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars. However, due to a self-imposed exile from the Order, Infil'a was unaffected by the tragedy of Order 66.
On a mission to obtain Infil'a's kyber crystal, Vader traveled to Al'doleem, where the former Jedi Master was rumored to have occupied a Jedi Monastery. During their confrontation, Infil'a actually defeats Vader in a lightsaber duel and sends him off a nearby cliff. Unfortunately, Infil'a neglects to confirm Vader's death, providing the Sith Lord time to retaliate.
