10 Original Powerpuff Girls Episodes Every Fan Should Revisit

In 1998, Craig McCracken and Cartoon Network released the award-winning animated series Powerpuff Girls, which has since gone on to influence many other franchises. The series quickly grew in popularity shortly after its release, garnering acclaim for blending pop-culture references with witty, adult humor.

Considering the series consists of more than 70 episodes, not including the feature-length film and reboot, it's understandable that some episodes had a larger impact on fans more than others. 10 "Just Another Manic Mojo" Revolves Around The Girls' Run-In With Their Archnemesis

As part of the first season, the episode "Just Another Manic Mojo" kicks off with a seemingly innocent game of baseball between the Powerpuff Girls. However, after the girls break Mojo Jojo's window, the superheroes are forced to find the baseball in his lab.

In the process of finding their baseball, the Powerpuff Girls destroy most of Mojo Jojo's lab, much to their archnemesis' frustration. In the meantime, Mojo Jojo tries his best, though ultimately in vain, to defeat the girls using his Giganto Destructo Powerpuffo Ray.

9 "Bubblevicious," Where Bubbles Takes Her Intensity Too Far

"Bubblevicious" is especially memorable, as it revolves around a fan-favorite character, Bubbles. Interestingly, the episode was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 1999. During a training exercise, Bubbles becomes frustrated by everyone treating her like a helpless baby. Determined to become more fearsome and respected, she cranks the training exercise up to 11, its highest level, ultimately becoming "hardcore."

However, the next day, Bubbles goes on a violent rampage through Townsville, unable to control her rage and punishing anyone who commits even the smallest crime. After singlehandedly defeating Mojo Jojo, Bubbles finally earns her sisters' respect, allowing her to return to her former, cheerful self.

8 In "The Rowdyruff Boys," Mojo Jojo Tries to Create His Own Powerpuff Girls

In "The Rowdyruff Boys," Mojo Jojo attempts to recreate his own Powerpuff Girls. Wanting to beef up the ingredients, Mojo substitutes sugar, spice, and everything nice, with snips, snails, and a puppy dog's tail. Limited by what's available to him in his prison cell, Mojo uses his toilet in lieu of Chemical X.

His experiment spawns Brick, Boomer, and Butch, who become the Rowdyruff Boys. The boys leave a wake of destruction in their path, leading to an inevitable confrontation with the Powerpuff Girls, who become frustrated by the Rowdyruff Boys' ruthlessness, resulting in an entertaining battle.

7 "Moral Decay" Details Buttercup's Questionable Business Plan

After Buttercup accidentally knocks out Bubbles' tooth in excitement, Bubbles is visited by the tooth fairy and given a dollar. Realizing she could earn money this way, Buttercup concocts a scheme to extract the teeth of anyone she comes across.

True to her character, she takes her obsession too far, even to the point of breaking into her archnemeses houses and knocking their teeth out, all to turn a profit. Unable to convince her to stop, Bubbles and Blossom trick Buttercup into fighting a group of enraged villains, karmically resulting in the loss of her teeth.

6 "Meet The Beat-Alls" Is An Entertaining & Comedic Paradoy Of An Iconic Rock Group

Frustrated by their constant failed attempts to defeat the Powerpuff Girls, four supervillains, Mojo Jojo, Princess, Fuzzy, and HIM, decide to join forces in a final desperate attempt to overpower the girls. After the group is finally successful in its efforts, the members form a team called "The Beat-Alls," realizing that they are more effective when working together.

The new group of supervillains proves to be a legitimate threat to the Powerpuff Girls, who are unable to best the Beat-Alls. In a hilarious Beatles reference, they eventually devise a plan to recruit a performing monkey named "Moko Jono" to break up the Beat-Alls.

5 "Speed Demon" Includes Time Travel & Alternate Timelines

"Speed Demon" is a particularly memorable episode, as it offers a glimpse into a bleak, post-apocalyptic future without the Powerpuff Girls. After school, the girls race home, excited about their upcoming trip to the Bahamas. However, as the race intensifies, the girls' speed increases as well, until they travel faster than the speed of light, launching them into the future.

In the Powerpuff Girls' fifty-year absence, Townsville has been completely destroyed, with no superheroes to protect it. The civilians have become broken and hopeless, blaming the Powerpuff Girls for their current state. The episode culminates in an all-out battle with HIM; however, the future version of their archnemesis proves to be a greater threat than they could've anticipated.

4 "Uh, Oh, Dynamo" Is Perfect For Giant Mecha Fans

After witnessing the Powerpuff Girls engage in a battle with a "Giant Fish Baloon Monster," Professor Utonium becomes concerned about his girls' safety. To keep them protected, the Professor designs a giant mecha suit called the "Dynamic Nanotechtronic Monobot," aka the "Dynamo."

At first, the Powerpuff Girls are reluctant to use the robot; however, after being defeated by the Giant Fish's even bigger brother, they eventually agree to use Dynamo. In an homage to Godzilla, the girls battle the monster in Little Tokyo in an undeniably entertaining confrontation.

3 "Mime For A Change" Tells A Story Of Revenge

After being accidentally doused with bleach in "Mime for a Change," Dr. Rainbow the Clown transforms into the evil Mr. Mime, who has the ability to not only remove the color from the world but mute music and sounds as well.

While investigating the mysterious lack of color in Townsville, Bubbles tries, in vain, to recolor all the citizens using her trusty crayons. Thankfully, the girls are able to implement the magical power of music, both stopping Mr. Mime and restoring color to Townsville.

2 "Abracadaver" Follows A Mysterious & Spooky Magician From The Past

"Abracadaver" has a surprisingly dark premise, as it revolves around a magician who, after being killed in an iron maiden, uses his magic to reanimate his body and rise from the dead. Even more gruesome, his iron maiden-turned coffin was left in the same condemned theater where he lost his life many years before.

While a demolishing crew goes to work destroying the condemned building, they unintentionally open the iron maiden, thus freeing the disgraced magician. As a magical zombie, Abracadaver uses his powers to exact revenge on Townsville, leaving a path of destruction in his wake.

1 "Los Dos Mojos" Introduces Bubbles as Mojo Jojo

During a confrontation with Mojo Jojo in "Los Dos Mojos," Bubbles is hit on the head, giving her amnesia. When she regains consciousness, Bubbles begins to believe that she is Mojo Jojo and begins wreaking havoc in Townsville.

In the inevitable confrontation between Bubbles and the remaining Powerpuff Girls, the confused Bubbles proceeds to beat up her sisters, truly believing she is Mojo. Irritated by her imitations, the real Mojo hits Bubbles on the head, reverting her to her former identity.
