King of the Hill producer Brent Forrester shared some hopeful news with fans.
When asked about a revival of Hank Hill's world during a Reddit Ask Me Anything, Forrester replied, "I am sure Greg Daniels and Mike Judge will murder me for sharing this but... HELL YES." He added, "They are in hot negotiations to bring back King of the Hill."
The Office producer cited the prior U.S. president as a driving force behind bringing the series back to television screens, noting, "The Trump administration made it suddenly very relevant again. The characters have all aged 15 years. The project is sooooo good. Okay I've said too much :)" Forrester served as a producer on the series from 1997-2004.
Known for its satire on American suburbia, the show also covered controversial topics. During Season 2, King of the Hill covered an episode on the dangers of White Nationalism spreading online. The episode, "Traffic Jam," debuted on Feb. 22, 1998, approximately 23 years before the general public and media began discussing the topic of White Nationalism openly.
Co-series creator Mike Judge hasn't confirmed or denied this comment from Forrester. The last Judge posted on social media was a post in March 2020, using his King of the Hill characters to promote social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
King of the Hill starred Mike Judge as Hank Hill, propane salesman and patriarch of the Hill family. Hank's wife, Peggy Hill, was portrayed by comedian Kathy Najimy. Pamela Adlon voiced their precocious son Bobby and his cousin Luanne Platter was voiced by the late Brittany Murphy. Neighbor Bill Dauterive was voiced by Stephen Root. Conspiracy Theorist and friend of Hank's Dale Gribble was voiced by Johnny Hardwick.
On top of voicing Hank and co-creating the series, Judge has created several popular television comedies, including Beavis and Butt-Head, Silicon Valley and The Goode Family. He also wrote the script for the comedy film favorites Office Space and Idiocracy.
Co-created and written by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, King of the Hill debuted its first episode on Jan. 12, 1997. The animated series ran for 13 seasons on Fox. The show's last episode aired on May 6, 2010, with the series amounting to 258 episodes. All thirteen seasons of King of the Hill are currently streaming in the United States on Hulu.
