Netflix Reunites Original Wu Assassins Cast for a Standalone Movie

Wu Assassins, the 2019 Netflix action series about a chef who gains mystical abilities and battles criminal warlords, is getting a standalone series titled Fistful of Vengeance.

The Wu Assassin cast from the 10-episode television run will return to star in Wu AssassinsFistful of Vengeance, as reported by Deadline. Iko Uwais returns as Kai Jin, who was transformed from his life in Chinatown in San Francisco to be the last Wu Assassin. Jin is charged with seeking and recovering the supernatural powers of earth, fire, metal, water and wood from five Wu Lords, who wield them as they run the Triad crime syndicate. Jin is aided by Zan Hui (JuJu Chan Szeto), Tommy Wah (Lawrence Kao) and Lu Xin Le (Lewis Tan).

The movie, to be filmed in Thailand, is set after the series. Jin and his associates go to Bangkok on a mission to avenge a fallen member of the team, and come across a new, ancient and powerful menace. New to the cast are Rhatha Phongam as Ku An Qi, Pearl Thusi as Adaku, Jason Tobin as William Pan and Francesca Torney as Preeya.

Wu Assassins: Fistful of Vengeance is written by Cameron Litvack, Jessica Chou and Yalun Tu. Roel Reiné directs, and Living Films provides production services. The movie does not have a release date.
