As Star Trek: Strange New Worlds begins production Toronto, Paramount+'s new Star Trek spinoff series has added five new members to its cast.
Per Deadline, Babs Olusanmokun (Dune, Black Mirror), Christina Chong (Tom and Jerry, Black Mirror), Celia Rose Gooding (Jagged Little Pill), Jess Bush (Skinford) and Melissa Navia (Billions) have all boarded Strange New Worlds as series regulars. They join Anson Mount, Ethan Peck and Rebecca Romijn, who reprise their roles as Christopher Pike, Spock and Number One, respectively, from Star Trek: Discovery. A promotional video announcing the start of filming unites the full cast to recite the classic Star Trek opening monologue, from which Strange New Worlds gets its name.
Announced in May 2020, Strange New Worlds follows Captain Pike during his time leading the Starship Enterprise, prior to James T. Kirk's own tenure captaining the iconic ship. Pike is joined by beloved science officer Mr. Spock alongside Una, aka Number One. Prior to appearing in Discovery, Una was established as a member of Pike's Enterprise crew in Star Trek: The Original Series.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stars Anson Mount, Ethan Peck, Rebecca Romijn, Melissa Navia, Celia Rose Gooding, Christina Chong, Babs Olusanmokun and Jess Bush. The series will premiere on Paramount+ on a currently unannounced date.
