Good Girls: Annie's Baby Day Out FINALLY Fixes A Failed Relationship

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for NBC's Good Girls Season 4, Episode 5, "The Banker."

While NBC's Good Girls has focused more on the crime capers that Beth and Ruby are up to with their families, Season 4 has given Annie a backseat. Beth's little sister is instead focusing on fixing her personal life; although, it's hard as her son, Ben, isn't keen on spending time with her for being such a screw-up. However, thanks to a baby's day out where Annie acts as caretaker for the baby of her lifelong nemesis, she manages to patch things up with Ben and hopefully lays building blocks for a future.

Annie's had a torrid time, struggling with how she tried to hook up with Ben's dad, Gregg, in past seasons, where she also tried to get him to leave his wife, Nancy. That was a total disaster, but they're moving past things as Nancy brings her baby, Dakota, over. She wants Annie to help her find a babysitter because she has to go out of town while Gregg's busy with work. Interestingly, Ben comes up as a babysitter for the day since he's pulled duty before.

Annie doesn't want Ben skipping school, so she bites the bullet and offers to take the child. Sadly, Nancy and Ben are skeptical as they know she's an irresponsible firecracker, and Dakota has many rigid rules to follow. However, Annie wants to prove them wrong and show that she's turned a new leaf, especially as she's ended her feelings for her psychiatrist, Josh. Nancy reluctantly agrees to leave Dakota, but little does she know her child's going to end up on gangster runs that day.

Mick, Rio's henchman, takes the ladies to accompany Beth as she rolls around as the "Banker," an enforcer collecting money for Rio while the feds are onto him. It leaves Annie scared since she's hoping they don't run into any shootouts. While the day goes smoothly, she proves to be a terrible mom. Luckily, Mick's great with babies, and he handles the constantly-crying Dakota.

Annie eventually takes the kid home, but when Nancy comes, she's pissed because Annie gave Dakota the wrong medication, and now the baby has severe diaper rash. She chides Annie as irresponsible, and Annie's worried that Ben will realize she was in over her head when he returns. Shockingly, Ben gets a glowing review from Nancy, who realized Annie did try her best. She kept the rash secret, and Ben, proud of his mom, starts bonding and getting their relationship back on track.

Good Girls stars Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman, Retta, Matthew Lillard, Reno Wilson and Manny Montana. Season 4 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
