Invincible Promo Reveals a Previous Episode's Bloody Fallout

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Invincible Season 1, Episode 5, "That Actually Hurt," available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

A new promo for this week's episode of Invincible explores the fallout from the titular hero's battle with Machine Head's thugs.

The promo was posted to the @InvincibleHQ account on Twitter, with the caption "I AM CONCERNED" -- a rather fitting caption given the promo's contents. It features Mark Grayson on life support, while his mother Debbie and father Nolan — better known as Omni-Man — look on in worry. Attempts are also made to revive Black Samson and Monster Girl, with the latter transforming into her monster form after being defibrillated.

In "That Actually Hurt," Invincible attempts to take in the crime lord Machine Head with help from the rock-skinned Titan. However, things went south, and Invincible — along with the Guardians of the Globe — were savagely beaten by Machine Head's thugs, including the feral alien warrior Battle Beast. The entire fight was observed by Nolan, who had a disagreement with Mark about where his priorities as a superhero lay. To make matters worse, Mark had planned to help his girlfriend Amber at a homeless shelter, which means Battle Beast's beatdown will take a toll on the young hero's social life alongside his physical and mental state.

Invincible stars Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Mark Hamill, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Mae Whitman, Chris Diamantopoulos, Melise, Kevin Michael Richardson, Khary Payton, Grey Griffin and Max Burkholder. The series is produced by Skybound, and executive produced by Robert Kirkman, Simon Racioppa, David Alpert and Catherine Winder. New episodes premiere Fridays on Amazon Prime Video.
